The Lassen College Foundation is honored to announce the Jonni’s Legacy Scholarship, made possible through the generous support of the Vogt-Morentz Charitable Fund.

Five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to Lassen College students pursuing their LVN education.

Jonni was a very special woman who brought joy to her family and friends. She loved painting, and her beautiful artwork was even featured on an award-winning olive oil from Winterhall Farms.

Her legacy also reminds us of something incredibly important: the need for well-trained healthcare professionals—especially LVNs—in our skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. As our communities age, having caring, qualified professionals available to care for our loved ones close to home becomes more important than ever.

We are grateful to the Vogt-Morentz Charitable Fund for helping carry Jonni’s legacy forward by investing in the next generation of healthcare professionals serving our community.

💜 LCC Nursing Fundraiser for Brandon 💜

Many of you know Abigail, a beloved member of our community, LCC Nursing Alumni and LCC Nursing Tutor. Her husband, Brandon, has recently been diagnosed with Stage IV non-small cell lung cancer. While this diagnosis is heartbreaking, doctors have identified a specific genetic mutation that allows him to receive a promising targeted treatment called Lorlatinib, giving their family hope.

As Brandon focuses on treatment, their family is facing significant financial strain from medical expenses, travel to specialists, and lost income. We have an opportunity to come together and help lighten that burden.

🌿 Help Us Make a Difference at the Thompson Peak Lavender Festival!
📅 Saturday, August 1
🕔 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
📍 465-000 Blevins Lane, Janesville
LCC Nursing will be hosting a Raffle Basket Fundraiser, and 100% of the proceeds will go directly to Brandon and his family.

How You Can Help:
💜 Donate a raffle basket or items for a basket.
💜 Buy tickets at the festival.
💜 Share this post with your family and friends.

Please comment below if you'd like to help in any way, and I'll be in touch. We have one week to pull this together, and every donation, ticket sold, and share makes a difference!

Every basket, every raffle ticket sold, and every act of kindness will help ease the financial burden so Brandon and Abigail can focus on what matters most - his treatment, healing, and time together.

Thank you for showing the incredible generosity and compassion that makes our community so special. 💜

Congratulations to these incredible LHS graduates! 🎓

Did you know students can complete Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training and earn state certification at just 16 years old, and complete Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training at 17, becoming state certified as soon as they turn 18?

🎉 Congratulations to the Spring 2026 EMT Cohort at Lassen Community College! 🚑

On Friday we celebrated the newest Emergency Medical Technicians joining the ranks of those who answer the call when it matters most. These dedicated individuals have worked incredibly hard — mastering life-saving skills, pushing through rigorous training, and proving their commitment to the health and safety of our community. We are so proud of each and every one of you!

EMT training is no small feat. From airway management and patient assessment to emergency response and critical decision-making under pressure, these students have gained the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to make a real difference in people's lives. Our community is safer because of their dedication.

💙 A heartfelt thank you to Chief Kady and Dawn Mateo for their outstanding instruction and commitment to developing the next generation of emergency responders. Your passion for this field and dedication to your students truly make this program exceptional.

We are also deeply grateful to the organizations that opened their doors and provided our students with real-world patient contact opportunities:
✅ SEMSA
✅ Burney Fire
✅ Banner Lassen

Your partnership is invaluable and makes all the difference in preparing well-rounded, confident EMTs.

And a huge thank you to all of the community first responders who volunteered their time and expertise to assist with drills, training, and testing. You are the backbone of what makes this program - and this community - so special.

To the Spring 2026 EMT Cohort: go out there, serve with heart, and know that your community stands behind you every step of the way. 🌟
