🐷💰 Kiss the Pig Fundraiser is Here!

FDES had a special visitor from the farm today, to check out who our brave candidates are! 🐖✨

Starting Monday, August 31st, students and staff can bring in their change and bills to cast votes for the person they’d like to see pucker up and kiss the pig in support of our Ag Program! 🐽

🗳️ Voting will be open for two + weeks
📅 Voting Ends Thursday, September 17th
📅 Winner announced Friday, September 18th

SHOUTOUT TO OUR AMAZING PTO!

A huge THANK YOU to our wonderful PTO for treating our staff to boiled peanuts during lunch today! They were definitely a hit.

We also want to give a special thank you to our local peanut farmers and Mema for helping make this treat possible!

We are so grateful for a PTO and community that continually finds ways to support and show appreciation for our FDES staff. We appreciate you!

POPSICLES WITH THE PRINCIPAL!

Our Tigers enjoyed Popsicles with Mrs. Harper this week! ❤️

For our Pre-K students, we celebrated an awesome first month of school! For our K–5 students, we celebrated successfully completing their BEACON Benchmark assessments and, most importantly, doing their very best! 🌟

A huge thank you to Mrs. Garner and Officer David for helping make our celebration happen! We enjoyed popsicles, listened to music, and even did a little singing in the cafeteria during lunch! 🎶

We are so proud of the hard work our students have put in during this first month of school. Great job, Tigers! Keep working hard and giving your best every day!

September Breakfast & Lunch Menus

September is almost here! 🍂 Check out what’s cooking at Fourth District Elementary School this month!

We’re sharing both our September breakfast and lunch menus so families can plan ahead. Remember, student breakfast and lunch are served daily at no charge!

We are so thankful for our School Nutrition team and all they do each day to make sure our Tigers are fueled up and ready to learn, grow, and have a great day! ❤️

Our community support is unmatched!

A big thank you to Mr. Jared Turner and his crew for coming out to help with our planter boxes! They got the pot & soil ready, and our students are eager to begin planting!

We also want to give a special shoutout to Mrs. Kristi Shipes for all she is doing to continue building a strong Agriculture program at FDES and creating hands-on learning opportunities for our students.

We are so grateful for the families and community members who give their time, resources, and talents to support our school. When our community invests in our Tigers, our students get opportunities to learn, grow, and experience things that extend far beyond the classroom.

Thank you for continuing to show up for FDES! We are so thankful for our Tiger community!

Exciting things are happening at FDES!

Mrs. Amee Lewis recently met with several of our 4th and 5th grade students to share about a new opportunity coming to Fourth District Elementary... Beta Club!

Beta Club is a national organization that recognizes and develops students who demonstrate academic achievement, character, leadership, and a commitment to serving others. Through Beta Club, students have opportunities to grow as leaders, serve their school and community, and challenge themselves to continue striving for excellence.

We are excited to bring this opportunity to FDES and look forward to seeing our Tigers step up, lead, and serve!

Thank you, Mrs. Lewis, for sharing with our students and helping us get this new opportunity started. We are proud of our Tigers and can't wait to see all they accomplish!

🏆 TWO AWARDS. ONE PROUD TIGER FAMILY!

We are so excited to share that Fourth District Elementary was recognized with TWO Georgia Department of Education awards for accomplishments during the 2024–2025 school year!

Literacy Leaders Award:
FDES earned special recognition for our 3rd grade students’ literacy achievement and growth! This award celebrates schools demonstrating exceptional performance in reading, and we are incredibly proud of the hard work that made this recognition possible.

A special shoutout to Mrs. Thomas and our students for this outstanding accomplishment!

John Hancock Student Signature Award:
FDES was also recognized for excellence in cursive handwriting! Our current 5th graders earned this award when they were in 3rd grade, demonstrating their ability to confidently write their signatures and the Preamble in cursive. Way to go, Tigers!

Our new banners are now proudly displayed in the main hallway at FDES! These banners represent much more than awards; they represent hard work, growth, great teaching, and students who rise to the challenge.

Thank you to all of our teachers and staff who pour into our students each day, and congratulations to our students for their hard work and achievement. We are so proud of our Fourth District Tigers!
