Our kindergarteners put their sense of taste to the test today! 👅✨

Students sampled honey, dark chocolate, chips, grapefruit, crackers, peanut butter, and apples to learn all about sweet, salty, sour, and bitter tastes. There were lots of smiles (and a few funny pucker faces!) as they made their flavor discoveries.

Great job, little scientists! 🧪🍎 Dark chocolate or honey—which one would your child choose?

🔬 Hands-On Science in 7th Grade! 🧬

Our 7th-grade scientists stepped into the lab this week for an exciting hands-on biology investigation! 🧫

Students peered through microscopes to explore the microscopic world of cells. Their mission? Identify key organelles—like the nucleus, cell wall, and chloroplasts—and collect evidence to determine whether their samples were plant or animal cells. 🌿🧫

From observing rigid cell walls in plant specimens to spotting distinct cell membranes in animal tissues, our Wildcats did an incredible job applying their knowledge and thinking like real scientists!

📚 The Superpower of Reading Aloud! 📖✨

Did you know that reading aloud to young children is one of the most powerful tools for their future success? 🧠💡

Research shows that sharing stories together does far more than just spark imagination—it builds:

Essential Vocabulary: Exposes kids to rare and complex words they rarely hear in daily conversation.

Stronger Language Structures & Listening Skills: Helps children understand narrative flow, sentence patterns, and active listening.

Emotional Empathy: Connects children to different perspectives, feelings, and social experiences.

The "Million-Word Gap"
Children who are read to regularly hear up to 1 million more words by kindergarten than those who aren't. Closing this gap sets a strong foundation for reading comprehension, confidence, and lifelong academic success! 🎓🌟

Whether it's 10 minutes at bedtime or a quiet afternoon story, every book counts. What's your child's favorite story to read together? 👇
