Pucci Associates’ next AZ NRA Basic CCW training in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area is 25-26 October and there is still time to register. This class is also one of the prerequisites for our NRA CCW Instructor course on 8-9 November (need to be an NRA Pistol Instructor also). This class is not for those new to shooting and all attendees must have their own handgun, holster, magazines, and 250 rounds of ammunition. The class will give you the skill sets you actually need to safely carry a concealed handgun and defend yourself and love-ones in a critical defense situation. The class is generally conducted in 2 sessions to facilitate learning and retention. It meets the AZ training requirements for an AZ CCW Permit. Just returned to AZ from conducting NRA CCW student and instructor training in Colorado. Great group of students & instructor candidates. All passed. Yesterday we conducted our last class at our primary classroom due to modifications to the facility that effectively eliminated any classroom space. Looking for a new primary location in the greater Surprise, AZ area, to teach first aid, CPR, and fi****ms classes. The facility would normally be used on a Friday evening (from 5 – 10 pm plus setup & tear-down time) and weekends (generally from 8:00 am 6:30 pm plus setup & tear-down time). The room needs to be able to accommodate a maximum of 10 students plus an instructor and 1 assistant. Access to a smart TV is optimum or would need to set up a projector and screen. Ideally looking to work with a small business that has a conference room that would be available generally after their normal business hours and would be willing to allow us access. Hotels are great but for a small business, like us, the rental of their meeting rooms is generally not cost effective. We do have a location for our next classes but due to the increased cost as it now stands, we’ll break even or conduct it at a loss (we will not cancel these upcoming classes)—last thing we want to do is raise prices. Yesterday conducted a first aid and basic life support (BLS) class hands on skill session. All the students were successful. They successfully completed the on-line theory portion earlier in the week. Our next scheduled program is 1 November in the greater Surprise, AZ metropolitan area. Returned to AZ after 3+ weeks in Colorado conducting NRA student & instructor classes as well as assisting in some armed security guard training. The students in the NRA classes had to work through some typical CO weather on range day as the temps were in the upper 50s – low 60s with rain & drizzle and wind. They worked through it well and succeeded. The armed security guard training was on an indoor range so no weather to contend with. Now back in AZ with triple digit tempts. Back to volunteering as a safety officer at least 1 day a week. You reloaders out there, pay attention when you reload. We had 2 squib loads the other day. Fortunately, the shooters didn’t fire a second shot but still the guns need to go to a gunsmith to remove the stuck bullets. Non-reloaders beware if you are buying reloaded ammo. Make sure you know the quality. You may end up paying out more than you bargained for.

This past weekend, in Colorado Springs, certified new NRA CCW Instructors. Great group of candidates. All did an outstanding job both in the classroom and on the range. Their range session on Sunday created a few more distractions than normal as the weather was typical Colorado May weather with wind, cold temperatures, and drizzle all day. They handled the weather well and successfully completed the program. A job well done by all. Special thanks to Pikes Peak Security for their support. Thanks to Adrian, Daniel, and Jack from Pikes Peak Security for their excellent assistance. Special thanks to Gordon, a long time friend and NRA Master training Counselor, for his assistance. Finally, thanks to Dragonman's for their continued support and assistance. Well done all.

This past weekend, in Colorado Springs, 5 NRA Instructors successfully completed the NRA Basic CCW training class. All did outstanding despite having to contend with not to pleasant weather conditions. All 5 are now either attending this weekend's CCW instructor training or at a later date. Great Job. Special thanks to Pikes Peak Security for the use of their classroom and Dragonman for the use of their facilities.
