"The 12 Most Common Mistakes Most Amateur Poker Players Make"
Calling to often is such a glaring amateur mistake that far too many players are making now a days. It's a passive poker action that allows your opponents to stick around much longer in hands that they have no business being in, only to steal your pots away from you on the river. When players know they can count on you to call, they use that information to set you up for a big loss. Overuse of the "Call" action is also a play that can earn you the monicker that nobody wants... "Calling Station" (a soft player that is a fish and calls far too often).
Having a good mix of raising, calling, and occasionally bluffing is the key to really being a tough player who no one will want to meet in a dark alley after cashing their paycheck. To find out what that perfect mix is, you will have to sign up for Pro Pair Poker University. But for now keep this in mind... If you find yourself in quite a few family pots (pots that involve multiple players), you are probably calling too much. If you are barely folding your cards and seeing a lot of losing hands all the way to the river, you are calling too much. Lastly, if you hear yourself saying the word "Call" out loud, over and over and over again, then guess what... You just turned into a pro crow caller on the s***t shooting circuit... or your poker game needs a gr***de taken to it because you are calling too much.
But seriously... There is an art to calling and the call action can be a dangerous weapon if used in the right manor. On the flip side, being a cereal caller is the losing kind of poker we are trying to prevent you from contributing to. So stick with us and hear the CALL of a winner... Cha Ching! Now that is a sexy call! Stay in the game with Pro Pair Poker!

"The 12 Most Common Mistakes Most Amateur Poker Players Make"
Think twice about jumping into that casino tournament when you have not had any training whatsoever. You would be better served spending that cash on lottery tickets and a Starbucks. Many players think they are much further along then they actually are and jump into games that are much to big for them in the beginning. They may have found some success playing wild card poker with their friends on a camping trip or they may have just watched some televised poker event and felt it looked easy. They say to themselves, "I am ready for anything because poker is poker". This is completely wrong thinking. If you are a newer player who has just gotten into the game, spend time honing your skills by playing against friends and family who have a similar skill level. Then try to find a bar tournament or lower cost ($10 - $50) casino tournament to jump into. Get comfortable at those levels until you are a winning player. Don't be over-eager to jump into the bigger games like $200 or $300 buy-ins and above. Those games attract high level players who are looking to take down an easy score. You will be surprised at the competition level. The game may feel like you are playing in the world series of poker for a $10,000 buy-in, but you are just around the corner at the local gaming teepee. Don't you worry though... If it is bigger games you are looking to get into, Pro Pair Poker will get you there with our university training course https://www.propairpoker.com/PokerUniversity ! But until you have reached that level, be patient and choose your games wisely!
