Say hello to our newest class members! Last week we welcomed this year's caterpillars. The kids have enjoyed observing them and discussing the process they will go through to turn into butterflies.

A reminder that we have a long weekend coming up! Friday Apr 7th and Monday Apr. 10th there will be no school to allow families time to travel for the Easter holiday.

Our sand box is finally fixed and open! The kids have had so much fun exploring with the new sand. Sand boxes are a fantastic sensory experience that help children discover so many foundational concepts (small motor development, cause and effect, problem solving, math concepts like volume.... and so much more!)

Spring is here! This week we've been exploring all the changes happening in our environment as this new season starts. We've spent a little more time outside discussing why the trees have green leaves now and all the colorful blooms. We're also keeping a tally on what animals are now coming out with the warmer weather!

Snack time last week turned into an impromptu math activity. One student sorted his yogurt covered raisins by color, then lined them up. Another student counted hers into a pile before eating them. Who says learning can't be fun AND delicious??

I am now enrolling for next school year! I have more than 10 years experience teaching preschool, am child & infant First Aid/CPR certified and have a level one fingerprint clearance card.

I use the Get Set For School curriculum to introduce children to emergent skills they will need for school through hands on, play-based learning. Spots are already starting to fill up, so don't wait too long!

Spring Break starts next week! Classes will resume Wednesday March 22nd.

Here's a look back at our month of learning about the dentist! We had so much fun exploring teeth, healthy habits, and what to expect during a typical trip to the dental office.

Some of the developmental skills your child on in February were:

A friendly reminder that there will be no class on Monday Feb. 20th in observance of President's Day. Enjoy the long weekend with your family!

Happy Groundhog Day! Our activity today had the kids exercising their small motor muscles as they cut grass for their prediction papers. Everyone wanted more winter… so they all predicted he would see his shadow.

And they were right! Puxatony Phil saw his shadow, so six more weeks of winter it is! Comment below if you were hoping he’d see his shadow out not (I was rooting for spring!).
