📢 Help Us Fill the Boxes and Win!

Our school is competing for the 2026 Hunger Relief Award, and we need your help! From October 19th through 30th, we are hosting the Dysart Annual Food Drive to support the Valley View Community Food Bank.

If every student brings just ONE item (like a jar of peanut butter, a can of soup, or a box of mac ‘n cheese), we can collect hundreds of meals for our neighbors in need! Small cans make a BIG difference.

🏡 Your mission: Check your pantry at home (with a parent’s permission!) and bring your items to class starting October 19th.

Here are the most wanted items from the food bank:

🌽 Canned Veggies & Fruits (Sweet corn, green peas, carrots, fruity cocktail)

Our Music class was buzzing with excitement this past week! Students were fully engaged as they sang and played musical instruments to keep the rhythm. From beat-matching to vocal performance, every student had a hands-on part in making music together. 🎤🪘

Mrs. Deffinbaugh’s class is exploring how things move this month! After reading about different animal movements, our students brought the lesson to life by crafting their own penguins and writing about how they waddle with their colony and slide across the ice. 🧊

Looking for a fun but educational activity to do with your child during Fall Break? 📚🎃

Join us for the Western Peaks Storybook Pumpkin Patch family project! Bring reading and creativity together at home as a family.

How to Participate:
📖 Pick a Character: Choose a character from your favorite book.
🎨 Decorate Your Pumpkin: Grab a real or fake pumpkin and use paint, glue, and craft
supplies to turn it into your character (families are encouraged to help!).
🚫 No Carving: Please do not carve any part of the pumpkin so it doesn't rot!

Learn the facts about Dysart’s fiscal responsibility:
- Dysart’s 8.5% costs per pupil in administration are classified as “low” when compared to peer districts, and is lower than the state average of 10.3%.
- Dysart has earned the ASBO Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting for 31 years in a row.
- Dysart has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for 22 consecutive years.
- Dysart has a proven track record of saving taxpayer dollars – previously refinancing bond debt to save taxpayers $20 million.
