These moments are full of joy and pride, but I fought really hard for them. I've spent the last 10 years trying to figure out what it means to have a career and be a parent. What I have to remind myself when looking at these photos is that being present as a parent often requires me to take time away from my kids. Continuing to challenge myself and grow as an individual plays a huge part in how I show up for my family.

Parenting is full of contradictions. Putting my experiences in words has always helped me work through the trying times and made me feel less alone… so I decided to start a blog. I hope you’ll dig in and share your thoughts.

Kids usually have the wild part down... and that’s a good thing! The key is teaching them skills and giving them an outlet so they can find a way to express all the wild and beautiful things inside of them.

I learn something new about my kids with every project we do together. I couldn’t imagine our life without art! You don’t have to be an expert, you just have to have an open mind and a little direction… and that’s where Maker Monkey comes in! Who’s getting out their hammers this weekend?? 🙋🏼‍♀️ Don’t be nervous! My sole purpose in starting this business was to create SIMPLE but FUN projects that don’t frustrate or overwhelm kids OR grown-ups. And if you do get stuck (which you won’t) I’m here for you! Come on, it’s time to level up your kid’s craft game!

The ability to adapt and overcome has never been more important. Think about how creative you have become as a parent in order keep your kids engaged in a world that keeps shutting down and locking up. It’s an incredible skill and mindset, and it’s one that can be taught.

Using our imagination often feels like an escape, but with confidence and skills, kids can learn how to bring their ideas to life. I don’t just want kids to imagine the possibilities, I want them to build them too. ✨

Back to school means back to sports! Just finished a small batch of these sporty pencil box building kits. I try to encourage my kids to personalize their workspace in hopes that it will make them even just slightly more enthusiastic about sitting down to do their homework. Wishful thinking? Okay maybe, but this project is still a fun one!
