Outside of work I love doing anything outside from hunting and fishing to going on hikes with my dog and being with my family! We are so excited to kick off another amazing school year! Join us Friday, Sept. 11, 5:30-7pm for our Welcome Back Picnic hosted by our PBIS team & Great Lakes PTO. Afterwards check out the Spartans Football game at SHS. All students get in free.

Join Sparty and your Superior Spartan Football team tomorrow night, Thursday, August 20 for the first football game of the season! 🏈

📣To encourage student involvement and show our appreciation for our incredible community, all K-12 students will receive free admission to all home athletic events and school activities this year. All K-8 students must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, please note that
📣 all K-5 students must be accompanied by, sit with, and be actively supervised by a parent or adult guardian to enter through the gates and attend events.
📣Students going into grades 6-8 must sit either with a parent/guardian or in the designated middle school student section.

We hope to see a huge crowd in the stands cheering on our athletes. We can’t wait to see everyone out supporting our Spartans!

Hello! My name is Alicia Willoughby, and I am excited to start my first year of teaching Special Education at Great Lakes Elementary. I graduated from Superior High School in 2022, then earned my bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Outside of the classroom, you might see me coaching volleyball at SHS or working out at YMCA Camp Tall Pines! I am excited to be back and active in the Spartan community.

Welcome to GLE, Ryli! We are excited to have you teaching music to our students!

💙 Welcome to the School District of Superior, Ryli Murray! 💙

Please join us in welcoming Ryli, new Elementary Music Teacher.

Hi there! My name is Ryli Murray and I am beyond thrilled to begin teaching elementary music at Great Lakes and Bryant elementary! I am from Clintonville, WI, and I moved to the twin ports to attend UMD from which I graduated in 2022 with a bachelor's in Music Education. I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point with my masters in Music Education.

When I am not at school, I enjoy playing trombone in various groups in town like the Lake Superior Low Brass Ensemble and Twin Ports Wind Orchestra. I also love to look for agates on the shore of lake Superior and spend time on hiking trails in Duluth. I love to garden, crochet, read, and bake. I have been getting into making sourdough bread over the past few years and my starter's name is Hildebread von Loafin!

I am so excited to share my love of music and cannot wait to get started!
