South Tech - Career and technical education in STL

At South Tech we provide students with Career and Technical Education (CTE) that prepares them for continuing education and the workforce. Our 25, tuition-free, CTE majors allow students to explore their career interests while earning industry certifications, college and high school credit, and skills that will last a lifetime. Partial day schedules keep students engaged in their home high school academics and activities while they make new friends with similar interests from all over South and West County.

🌟 Meet September's STAR award staff recipients!

The STAR program gives students and staff a way to recognize others for their kindness, hard work, and positive impact throughout our school.

Ms. Miller has stepped up to manage bus and hallway duties when a coworker was out. She supports our incoming and current students in every way possible!

Mr. Welch is our new auto instructor and has been a tremendous aid in setting up the revamped online auto curriculum.

Celebrating the leaders who help South Tech thrive!

During School Administrators Month, we’re proud to recognize Principal Dr. Jacob Lohse and Assistant Principal Daniel Sacre for the leadership, dedication, and care they bring to our school community each day.

From building relationships and supporting collaboration to navigating challenges and creating opportunities for growth, their leadership helps keep our school focused on what matters most: helping every student learn, grow, and succeed.

Thank you for all you do for our students, staff, and families. We’re proud to celebrate you!

South Tech Law Enforcement students stepped into nearly 170 years of history with a visit to the Missouri State Penitentiary this week. Instructor Werges said, "It was a history lesson like no other."

Students explored the cells and discipline areas, including "The Hole" and "The Dungeon," while learning about a prison that operated from 1836 to 2004. Understanding where corrections has been is part of understanding the criminal justice system our students are training to join. What happens when Early Childhood Education visits Veterinary Assistant? 🐶🐹🦎 You get some very curious preschoolers, some furry and scaly visitors, and photos that are pretty hard to resist.

This is how immersive learning gets at Tech: our Early Childhood Education students teach in real preschools, while Veterinary Assistant students learn by working with real animals.

Future teachers and future veterinary professionals can start building in high school. Applications are open now! https://southtech.ssdmo.org/programs
