To finish introducing our ag teachers, help us welcome back a familiar face:

My name is Stephanie Bushnell. I am delighted to begin my fourth year teaching ag. This will be my second year here at Sunray, where I teach Floral Design, Greenhouse Production and 8th Grade Agriculture. This year, I am grateful for the opportunity to lead the agriculture department and mentor two new ag teachers as our program continues to grow. I wholeheartedly believe that our strong team of ag teachers is deeply committed to student success. I look forward to incorporating new ideas while building on the strong foundation we’ve already established for our agriculture program and FFA chapter.

What I enjoy most about Sunray is the strong sense of community that brings our town together. I also greatly appreciate our students, who are respectful, hard working and eager to learn.

Agriculture has always been a major part of my life. Growing up on a farm in Colorado, from a young age I developed a passion for gardening and raising livestock as well as working with horses. I still regularly return to Colorado to visit family and check on my herd of Shorthorn cattle. Before beginning my teaching career, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from West Texas A&M, where I was a member of the horse judging team. Prior to that, I double majored in Agriculture Education & Animal Science at Northeastern Junior College, where I rode for their ranch horse versatility team. I also previously worked as a substitute teacher and a CTE curriculum developer. Two experiences that truly shaped my desire for a career in agricultural education were serving as a Colorado FFA State Officer and later becoming a National Teach Ag Ambassador.

In the future, I look forward to starting an online Masters Degree program through Texas A&M, working towards a Texas Master Florist certification, and raising a family here in Sunray.

The Floral of the Month Subscription Program offered through the Sunray High School Floral Design program is back for the Fall 2026 Semester! 💐

The goal of this program is to give our plant science students hands-on floral design experience, and to provide members of the community with beautiful, fresh cut flowers. 🌼

To participate in this subscription program, customers will pre-pay $150 each semester and will receive 4 monthly, student designed, floral arrangements. Please see the attached catalogue photos below for the Fall 2026 semester arrangements.

This semester, customers also have the option to add on two additional Holiday arrangements for an additional fee:

🎃 Halloween Candy Bouquet: $40
🌲 Artificial Christmas Wreath: $30

If you or anyone you know would like to order, please submit your order form and your $150 payment to Miss Bushnell no later than August 31st.

We accept payment in the form of cash, checks made out to Sunray FFA or Venmo to -BoosterClub .

You can turn in your payment to Ms. Bushnell or to the front office of Sunray High School.

***Please note that you must pre-pay up front at the beginning of the semester for all 5 arrangements and that you cannot order individual arrangements.***

Please join us in welcoming another new ag teacher, Sadie Arnold!

Hello! My name is Sadie Arnold and I’m from Amarillo Texas. I grew up showing pigs for 10 years as well as competed in a multitude of 4-H contests at a state level. I attended Clarendon College and was a part of the livestock judging team. After I graduated, I transferred to Texas Tech University. I obtained a Bachelors degree in Animal Science, and this is my first year teaching. I’m excited to not only share my passion for agriculture but to share all the opportunities animal science has to offer! I look forward to a great school year and strive to inspire growth that extends beyond the classroom, and helping students become their best selves.

Over the summer, Ms. Bushnell and our plant science students have been hard at work growing Chrysanthemum flowers for Fall Mum Baskets! 🌱 These locally grown flowers are expected to bloom at the end of September 🌼

🗓️ Mark your calendars— we will be selling mums out of our greenhouse starting in September! Keep us in mind when you are getting ready to decorate your porch this fall! 🍂 all proceeds support agricultural education programs at Sunray ISD. 🐾
