A reminder that our Haunted Gallery (spooky, not to scary) will be open tomorrow, October 30th, from 3:30-4:30 in the GLC. The Haunted Gallery is free to attend, but donations to the Nimitz PTA will be gratefully accepted. There will also be some Halloween backdrops available if you would like to take any photos after you have walked through. Also, a reminder that all students need an adult present to walk through the Haunted Gallery.
All families and the community are invited to come see the haunted gallery in the Nimitz GLC on Thursday, October 30th from 3:30-4:30. Admission is free, but donations to the PTA are greatly appreciated! Hope to see you there!
Thank you to all of the Nimitz PTA members that helped set up our 2025 Pumpkin Patch over the past few days!
We had an amazing day today! All of our students were able to come into the GLC with their class to select a pumpkin to take home. We heard lots of oohs and ahhs, as well as cheers, as they came into the patch and saw so many smiles and happy students today! This is definitely a well-loved tradition at Nimitz!
We hope to see some of these pumpkins back next Thursday, October 30th for our annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest!

A statement from our California State and National PTA leaders in reaction to the horrific school shooting in Minneapolis. The PTA organization at all levels advocates for school safety and gun violence prevention.
PTA will never relent on our push at all levels and on both sides of the aisle for solutions and policies to eliminate gun violence and save lives. We urge everyone to use our Blueprint for Parent Leaders to Take Action on Gun Violence Prevention to host critical conversations in your school communities around school safety planning and gun violence prevention: PTA.org/SchoolSafety.

Mrs. Benson, our beloved STEAM club teacher, has a Donors Choose project for 3D Printing supplies that is only $125 away from being funded.
Right now, all Donor's Choice donations are currently matched 1.5x, which means that we can complete this project for only $85!
Let's try to fund her project to bring 3D Printing supplies to our Nimitz STEAM lab! Thanks for your help and support!

We want to invite all Nimitz families, current and past, to celebrate with us tomorrow, June 4th, at the CUSD School Board Meeting at Meyerholz Elementary! We will meet at 5:45pm for some treats, and then at 6:00 we will all walk into the meeting together. Please feel free to bring your Nimitz students and wear Nimitz blue!
For those of you that might not have heard, Nimitz was awarded the prestigious 2025 California Distinguished School Award. This is an award that honors some of California's most exemplary and inspiring public schools. Schools selected for the Distinguished School Award demonstrate significant gains in narrowing the achievement gap and have also demonstrated strong overall outcomes for all students. We are very proud of all the work that went into closing the gap and showing just how amazing our community, teachers, intervention staff are.

Our very own Mrs. Benson has made a Donors Choose project to request get 3-D Printing supplies for the Nimitz Tech Lab. PTA is passing on the information about the project in case anyone would like to contribute to support it.
