SSN Alumni Association USA Chapter

- Design a Student Leadership Program that will be run and funded by the SSN Alumni Association. It would involve selecting a few students and nurturing them to be future leaders with practical exposure and theoretical knowledge. The students will also have some responsibilities to fulfill to enhance the bridge between students and alumni. Research handbook - Publish an online Research hand book that will provide students with information on how to document research, experiments and projects; Publish information like useful websites, journals and most commonly referred sources for all the departments at SSN; Give important tips on making research/paper/poster presentations; Provide technical and communication guidelines; Offer basic information about statistics and statistical methods; Stress the importance of properly citing works and protecting intellectual property; Make minor revisions once a year; Release revised edition once in 3 years. Research Internship - Identify one current student at SSN Institutions for a voluntary research internship with SSN alumni; Intern will also act as a single point-of-contact between the R&D committee and the students; Setup an application process and publish it in the alumni portal; Co-ordinate with the marketing committee to advertise the position; Review, short-list and select one student from the applications received. Alumni Portal Launch Publicity - Plan an online promo campaign before the launch of the portal; send at least 3 rounds of promotional emails before launch; organize a small scale event on the day of the launch and if possible stream the event through a screencast. Annual Alumni Meet 2011 Publicity - Planning, promotion, logistics, invitations, local support and implementation; target number of participants is 75. Annual Alumni Meet 2012 Publicity - Planning, promotion, logistics, invitations, local support and implementation; target number of participants is 125. Alumni Portal Revenue Generation - Explore and execute marketing opportunities for raising funds using the Alumni portal

Alumni Newsletter Publicity - Provide periodic updates on activities of Marketing and Public Relations Team and other network building/encouraging news/activities

Alumni Scholarships Publicity - Publicize news/updates on scholarships generated and how it was awarded

Alumni Portal Traffic Analysis - Analyze traffic in the alumni portal regularly; target for first 6 months is 30 unique hits per day
Virtual Seminars Publicity Market seminars/talks/transcripts of SME/public speakers. Alumni Portal Registration Publicity - Increase the registration in the alumni portal through online marketing; target number of registrations is 500 by end of Aug 2011; maintenance of alumni chapter mailing list; target number of members in the mailing list is 500 by end of June 2011

Local Meets Publicity - Provide publicity for local meets; target - 4 events in 2011, 6 events in 2012

Official presence in social networks - Consolidate groups in social networking sites to one official group; keep constantly posting in the group; find new members and add them to the group; target number of members in facebook group is 500 by end of June 2011

SSN Alumni Scholarships - Collect donations from alumni to assist rural, needy and physically challenged students at SSN in the form of scholarships. Endowment Research - Formalize the process of alumni endowments by interacting with the college and lawyers. Corpus Fund - Maintain the database of donations and expenses. Find out ways by which the corpus fund can be maintained and spent towards the most critical initiatives. Portal Features - Provide content and features to the IT Operations team that needs to be incorporated in the portal. Fund raisers - Organize fund-raisers or partner with non-profit organizations that would benefit the society. Registration - USA Chapter - Prepare the entire documentation required for registration including the functioning of the Chapter. Complete the process of registering the USA Chapter as a legal entity. Alumni Membership Cards - Find out ways by which alumni memberships cards could be distributed and perks and benefits that come along with membership. Strategic Initiatives - Think about the strategic initiatives that would benefit the organization in the long run and start doing the ground work. Election of SSN Alumni Chapter Board - Formalize the process of electing the next alumni board, conduct the elections and co-ordinate the knowledge transfer sessions. Local Meets - Publish a calendar of local meets along with names of local organizers. Help local organizers conduct the local meet. Job Search Implement a structure by which alumni can search for job openings. Partner with IT operations team for features required in the alumni portal. Alumni Database - Build the alumni database of SSNites residing in US. Newsletter - Publish a quarterly newsletter for the USA Chapter members, SSN and students summarizing the activities of the association. Features - Release 1 Mar - Oct 2011
