A 3-year-old making mud soup might look like nothing more than messy pretend play. But take a closer look—there’s a whole lot of learning happening.

As children scoop, pour, stir, imagine, and create, they’re developing motor skills, language, math and science concepts, problem-solving skills, empathy, and so much more. So when it looks like they’re “just playing”… are they?

We’re thrilled to welcome Teacher Rita Beransky to our Big Trees teaching team as we expand our outdoor program! And thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, our new sail shades are officially up—bringing much-needed shade to our playground, carpentry, and sink areas. 💚
