Preschool Teacher Assistant Position.

About us:
We are a California Mentor Site and NAFCC Accredited Family Childcare Program for 11 years. This is a good opportunity for ECE students to gain or excel their experience in a warm positive environment.

Entry-level applicants will have the opportunity to participate in an apprenticeship program with paid tuition for college courses, along with paid-for books, a laptop, and on-the-job mentorship towards earning an associate teacher permit. Participation in this program is time-sensitive.

Preschool Teacher Assistant Position:

· Part time 9:00 – 12:30 M-F.

· Location: Sunnyvale close to downtown, HWY 101, 237, and 85

· Compensation: paid vacation, National holidays, sick days, and a competitive rate based on Early Childhood Education and experience.

Qualifications: must have Early Childhood Education units or a willingness to take ECE college courses, and at least one year experience of working with preschoolers.

Skills: The candidate should be able to take initiative, manage unwanted behavior with positive reinforcement, and supervise the children with little or no supervision. The candidate should also be able to engage with children and contribute to activities.

Functions:
• Planning and implementing activities
• Maintaining a clean and organized facility
• Building positive relationships with children, families, and staff

Physical demands:
• Observe and respond quickly to a potential emergency
• Pay close attention to the group
• Ability to stand, walk, sit on the floor, stoop, kneel, bend, and lift 25-30 lbs.
• Assist in daily routine/personal hygiene of children
