The Music School is non-profit, with open enrollment and scholarship assistance available.
In 1977, Doris Harry and a small group of music educators sought to create a music school where children could learn about music by exploring, reading, and piano. Thirteen children enrolled in a twelve-week pilot program, and The Music School began as a non-profit community school, an outreach program of the Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church. WELCOME Tanisha Nelson to the Music School faculty! Tanisha is a pianist and bassoonist, who comes to us from San Jose State University’s Music Education program. She will be teaching private lessons on Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings.

Our newest faculty members are off to a fantastic start! Meet James Vaughan (woodwinds), who comes to us from San Jose State's Music Education program, William McNamara (classes), a recent UCLA Ethnomusicology graduate, and Brietta Greger (percussion), a Music School alum who has been actively performing and teaching in the Bay Area for over a decade. We are thrilled to have such talent joining our team!
