Welcome back Big Walnut!

Mrs. Febes is entering her 9th year of teaching, her 4th with Big Walnut, and her 1st year at the middle school level. Mr. Fletcher is starting his 2nd year of teaching and his 1st full year as an agriscience educator!

Both advisors are excited for the 2026–2027 school year as we launch our very first Applications of Food Science class!

Congratulations to the following graduate members on becoming recipients of the American FFA Degree.

These students will walk across the national stage to receive their award on October 24th, 2026 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN. The American Degree is the highest degree an FFA member can achieve as an active member. Great job to all and we can’t wait to celebrate your achievement in October.

Congrats to Gabby, Jake, Ella, and all our students who showed in the open shows today!

Our students stayed busy in the ring showing dairy heifers and breeding sheep, then wrapped things up with the hog sale. (And speaking of hogs, they take the crown for Mr. Fletcher’s Species of the Day! Mr. Fletcher got to walk Donny the reserve champion barrow.)

We’re gearing up to finish our open shows and super showmanship tomorrow before getting ready for the livestock sale and haul out on Saturday. So proud of all the hard work these kids are putting in!

It’s officially Day 1 of the Hartford Fair, and it was a scorcher! ☀️🔥

Our FFA barn is packed with incredible student projects, and showing got underway right out of the gate! We are so proud of the hard work and dedication these kids have put in to get ready for fair week.

We also want to recognize Erin H. for making it onto the 2026 royalty court! 👑

🎉 BIG NEWS!

Huge congratulations to Erin H. for being selected as an Agriscience Fair National Finalist in the Food Products and Processing Division 5 category! 🔬✨

Erin stood out in a competitive field to earn her place in the Top 10 with her project on the Maillard reaction! 🧪🍞

Erin will complete a virtual interview with national judges before finding out her final placing live at the 99th National FFA Convention this October.

A special thank you to Dr. Mary Kay Pohlschneider and Ohio State Food Science & Technology for helping Erin with her project.
