The soundtrack of life for so many. What a gift. For me it was like it was meant to be from the beginning. Barely a teenager, the bus came by, I got on, and I’m still riding today⚡️The music is medicine. The music is magic. But it was also the energy shared by Bobby and the band. Something ethereal. Something so much bigger. Like he said when Jerry passed and Mickey has underscored for years, to take the music, the experiences, the joy and do something good with it. That hit me well before the music really seeped in, and Bobby found such a beautiful way to share miracles, everyday🌹Forever Grateful⚡️to channel that energy into life ✨Love is real, Not Fade Away❤️ Thanks Bobby, we’ll keep doing our best⚡️

Scenes from the season, and all abord the hype 🚂! Are we about to get 4 feet or 10? Waves of surf or sheets of chop? The forecast seems to vary widely, what a surprise 😂 But the consistent piece is the patten is about to change, big-time🙌

Three weeks of no new snow in January felt a lot longer than it actually was. I go back to the years when I was writing the weekly State of the Backcountry column, and one of the things that stood out the most to me was even in drought years, there was always something to ski. Actually, the low tide conditions created a sort of different lens to view the backcountry potential. Sure, there was a lot off the table. But in a different way, a lot more was “in”. There’s a different flow in the random things you don’t always think about trying to ride. The random adventures push a creative button, bringing a different fun factor. My favorite is even though there is no such thing as bad snow, the tastiest lemonade was finding the goods when the general consensus was that they didn’t exist. If you’ve been out in the BC the past few weeks you know there has been soft, dry facets to ski in sheltered N folds throughout the Tahoe area and around the Eastside as well. Solar slopes have also been showing lately too, although I’ve only given into one such lap this season. Regardless, lots to be stoked about, and now we might get a storm that drops more in a week than we’ve had all season 🤞 As Phil ⚡️ would say, time to buckle ⬆️ #🍋❄️😋

The Photos are from a few of the more enjoyable days this season, with the kid stoke as the glaring winner with our first fam laps on KT and Chair 23, and Mika’s first time skinning and skiing pow in the backcountry. It’s amazing how through a kids eyes, it’s always about having as much fun as possible. ✨❤️

Here, the highway becomes a gateway to some of the most accessible backcountry skiing in the lower 48. As skiers, hikers, and first time snow visitors share this multi-use passage, it stands as a beacon of inclusivity and balance, although it faces its challenges it stands as a model for the harmony between nature and community and access.
