John Wycliffe was convinced that Scripture should be available to ordinary Christians in the language they understood. That conviction led him to champion the translation of the Bible into English at a time when Scripture was largely inaccessible to the common people.

That same need continues today. In Spain, churches still rely on the LBLA and its traditional Castilian Spanish, but copies have become increasingly difficult to obtain. TMAI is working with Berea Seminary to make a special printing of 5,000 Bibles possible.

With $7,500 still needed to complete the project, your prayers and gifts can help place these Bibles into the hands of churches throughout Spain.

For many churches in Spain, La Biblia de las Américas (LBLA) has long been a trusted translation of God’s Word.

The LBLA uses traditional Castilian Spanish, including the vosotros form still commonly used in Spain. The newer NBLA uses contemporary Latin American Spanish, including ustedes in place of vosotros. As the NBLA became more widely used throughout Latin America, demand for the LBLA declined, eventually making copies increasingly difficult for churches in Spain to obtain.

Berea Seminary has asked for help making a special printing of 5,000 LBLA Bibles possible. With $17,500 still needed to complete the project, we’re trusting the Lord to provide what is needed to make these Bibles available to churches throughout Spain.

For many churches in Spain, La Biblia de las Américas (LBLA) has long been a trusted translation of God’s Word. The LBLA uses a traditional Castilian form of Spanish, including the vosotros form that is still commonly used in Spain.

As the Nueva Biblia de las Américas (NBLA), which uses contemporary Latin American Spanish, became more widely used throughout the Spanish-speaking world, demand for the LBLA declined and copies became increasingly difficult to obtain.

When Berea Seminary shared this need with TMAI, our Global Publications team began working with publishers to make a special printing of 5,000 Bibles possible.

Please pray that the Lord would use these Bibles to strengthen pastors, churches, and ministry leaders throughout Spain for years to come. We’re grateful for those who faithfully pray for and support this work.

Five hundred years ago, William Tyndale and those who labored alongside him risked their lives to put God’s Word into the hands of ordinary people. For many of us today, owning a Bible is something we can easily take for granted. Their faithfulness reminds us what a gift it is to have the Scriptures readily available. Yet around the world, there are still believers, pastors, and churches without the biblical resources they need to read, teach, and faithfully proclaim God’s Word.

That same commitment to God’s Word continues to shape the work of TMAI today, helping put Scripture and biblical resources into the hands of those who need them and equipping pastors and church leaders to faithfully preach, teach, and shepherd Christ’s church.

Five hundred years after William Tyndale’s English New Testament, the work of making God’s Word known continues.

William Tyndale’s Accomplices by Eric Weathers tells the story of the men and women who labored alongside Tyndale so that ordinary people could read the Scriptures for themselves. Their faithfulness reminds us that God often works through ordinary servants to accomplish His extraordinary purposes.

At TMAI, we share that same confidence in the power of God’s Word. Around the world, pastors and church leaders are being equipped to faithfully preach, teach, and shepherd Christ’s church so that local congregations are strengthened by the truth of Scripture.

Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Cali, Colombia, as they continue to recover from the recent 7.4 magnitude earthquake that struck the region.

Santiago Armel pastors Iglesia Bíblica Cristiana de Cali and is the vice president of TMAI’s member school in Colombia which has campuses in Bogotá and Cali. Santiago shared that damage to the venue their church normally rents has forced the congregation to temporarily relocate. In God’s grace, He provided a location for the church of 800 to gather outdoors this past Sunday.

Even in these difficult circumstances, Santiago shared that the church is grateful to be together.

“Thank the Lord, He has blessed us with a place to meet. The power is out so there is no electricity in the room designated for children, but we are all full of joy because we are together as a church, and He is our light.”

Please pray for Santiago and the Iglesia Bíblica Cristiana de Cali as they care for their church and community. Pray for the Lord’s provision in the days ahead, for those throughout the region who have been affected by the earthquake, and that Christ would continue to be preached and exalted through His church.

In Genoa, Italy, Matt Johnston and ITEV are training men for pastoral ministry with an emphasis on theology, exegesis, preaching, and the personal care of God’s people.

Through pastoral seminars, men are encouraged to think carefully about their own lives and doctrine and how they can better disciple and care for those in the local church.

Please join us in praying for this work. Pray that the Lord would give ITEV more opportunities to encourage and train pastors, and that more men in Italy would see the importance of knowing, discipling, and caring for the people God has entrusted to them.

“We have to guard our doctrine and ourselves.”

Pastors are entrusted with the care of God’s people. As they teach, disciple, and shepherd others, they must also carefully watch their own lives and remain faithful to the truth of God’s Word.

Paul writes in 1 Timothy 4:16, “Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching.” This charge is at the heart of faithful pastoral ministry and the kind of shepherding ITEV seeks to encourage in the men they train.

Please pray that the Lord would continue to grow these men in faithfulness to His Word and in their love and care for His people.

One of the greatest needs in the church is faithful men who know God’s Word, preach it with conviction, and equip others to do the same.

Daniel Herceg of Theological Biblical Academy in Croatia shares his prayer that the Lord would strengthen churches through a deeper understanding of His Word, raise up more men who are committed to biblical truth, and prepare the next generation of faithful pastors and church leaders.

This is why TMAI exists. As men are equipped to faithfully preach God’s Word and shepherd Christ’s church, local churches are strengthened, believers are established in the truth, and the gospel continues to advance from one generation to the next.
