✨ Yay to inclusion! ✨
Earlier this month, our NEW Unified Generation Council (UGC) kicked off their journey together at the UGC Retreat in Irvine, CA! 🌟

Over two incredible days, council members attended Special Olympics Southern California’s Float with the Flame event at Wild Rivers, participated in leadership breakout sessions, tackled a fun escape room challenge, and built lasting connections through team bonding activities with the support of our SOSC School Managers. 🤝💙

Through regional breakout sessions and leadership development opportunities, these student leaders learned how they can make an impact on their campuses and champion inclusion across Southern California. 🌴

They left the weekend feeling empowered, equipped with new skills, and inspired by new friendships that will help them spread inclusion everywhere they go. Together, they’re ready to lead the way toward a more unified future!

Last month, our Region 2 Schools Manager, Amanda Beltran, had the opportunity to attend Special Olympics USA Games 2026 and it was an experience she’ll never forget! 🏅

“Attending USA Games for the first time completely blew my mind. It was even bigger and better than I imagined. Seeing athletes from across the country compete at such a high level was incredible, but the most inspiring part was witnessing their passion, commitment, and determination. It was an unforgettable experience, and I would absolutely do it again.”

And that’s a wrap on the 2025–26 school year. 🥹💙

What a year!! We welcomed 70 new Unified Champion Schools, celebrated 1,770+ graduating seniors, hosted Youth Summits across Southern California, cheered on athletes at the CIF Unified Track & Field Championships, and made so many memories along the way.

The best part? Watching inclusion grow in schools every single day. 🫶

To everyone who was part of this journey—athletes, Unified partners, educators, coaches, volunteers, families, and supporters—thank you for making this year so special. We couldn’t do it without you.

Recess got a little more inclusive (and a lot more fun) with sensory bins, calming tools, and hands-on activities for allstudents to enjoy together. From sharing materials to making new connections, students showed how play can bring everyone together and create a space where everyone belongs. 🌟🤝

Our Unified Generational Council spent the weekend at SOSC Summer Games at Cal State Long Beach! ☀️🏅

From cheering on athletes to getting a behind-the-scenes look at what makes Summer Games possible, our UGC members had the opportunity to shadow and learn about programs including Healthy Athletes, Young Athletes, Marketing & Communications, and Volunteer Services.

It was an incredible weekend of learning, leadership, and seeing inclusion in action. 💙 We can’t wait to see how these future leaders continue to make an impact within their communities!

This past weekend, 6 of our Unified Champion Schools headed to Clovis, CA to compete at the CIF State Track & Field Championships! 💙💛

From the first race to the final event, our athletes showcased determination, sportsmanship, and the true spirit of inclusion.
