The club is hosting a BQA Certification Night on April 15 at 6:00 PM in the Agricultural Sciences Building, Room 62. We will be completing the Cow/Calf Beef Quality Assurance program, and participants will receive their certificate via email once the course is completed.

This program is simple, valuable, and beneficial regardless of major. If you have any interest in cattle production, it provides a strong foundation for ensuring quality beef production. This certification is also a great addition to resumes and vet school applications.

This week the Student Idaho Cattle Association traveled to Sun Valley for the Annual Idaho Cattle Convention. Students spent the week connecting with industry leaders, attending breakout sessions on topics like legislative updates, artificial intelligence, Ranch-to-Retail marketing, animal health, and Idaho public lands. They also explored emerging technology, including satellite-powered ear tags, and learned how AI can be integrated into everyday jobs. Dr. Bass even volunteered during the AI session!

From student sessions to policy discussions to a deep dive into yield grade advancements, members broadened their understanding of the issues shaping Idaho’s cattle industry. And to top it all off, they even caught a glimpse of the Northern Lights over Sun Valley.

We are incredibly grateful to the Idaho Cattle Association for their continued support of students and the cattle industry, and for creating opportunities like this!
