Big shoutout to the talented students from Sun Prairie Area School District’s SET Academy (Sports, Entertainment & Tourism Marketing)! We recently partnered with them to collect and analyze data on how our visitors enjoy Sun Prairie Ice. From public skating to hockey and everything in between, these students dove into the numbers to help us better understand our impact and opportunities.

They wrapped up the project by presenting their findings to members of our Board of Directors, and we’re so impressed by their professionalism and insights. 👏

We’re proud to support hands-on learning experiences that connect students with real-world opportunities in our community. Thank you, SET Academy!

Friday was one of those moments that reflects the power of education and student voice.

This morning, students from Sun Prairie Area School District's East and West High School in the Business Leadership Academy had the opportunity to present their research and recommendations to State Senator Melissa Ratcliff at the Capitol. Their work was the result of a project completed in partnership with Pamela Blattner the Amputee Coalition, focused on raising awareness and advocating for the limb loss community here in Wisconsin.

These students researched, listened to lived experiences, analyzed policy implications, and ultimately presented ideas aimed at supporting legislation that could make a meaningful difference for individuals and families affected by limb loss.

Watching high school students confidently engage in civic discourse, speak with purpose, and advocate for a community beyond themselves was incredibly powerful. This is what real-world, applied learning looks like, and it reflects the students’ professionalism, empathy, and leadership.

Thank you to Senator Ratcliff for taking the time to listen, and to Pam Blattner and the Amputee Coalition for trusting our students with work that truly matters.
