Congrats to Iileen Thwing at Westside Elementary School, SPASD who is SPEF's first GOLDEN TICKET winner! Finding her ticket inside the notepads we handed out to all Sun Prairie Schools educators this year, got her breakfast and drinks for her and 9 of her coworkers from Beans n Cream Bakehouse this morning!

The best part is I got to thank them for all they do to support and uplift kids every day!

Some traditions have been around for years. Others are just getting started! 🌱 Today we are with our Ignite Impact students, continuing a new SPEF tradition of giving students a voice in how we invest in their schools and community. 🏫💡 We have a feeling this tradition is going to stick. 🤝

A stunning new sensory garden is blooming at CH Bird Elementary School in memory of Ruth Johnson, a beloved kindergarten teacher. Thanks to another Bird Elementary educator Jenn Divney, who turned an idea into a SPEF grant, students now have a special place to explore and learn.

Tonight, our community comes together at Keys to the Future, SPEF’s biggest fundraiser of the year, to help make the next educator ideas possible. Whether you’re joining us tonight or cheering us on from home, we hope you will join us in helping us unlock what’s next!

🔥 BIG IDEAS. REAL-WORLD IMPACT. AND SOME AMAZING SUN PRAIRIE STUDENTS! 🔥

Something exciting is happening behind the scenes at DSAW-South Central! 💙💛

On September 24, Margaret had the opportunity to meet with four amazing Sun Prairie high school seniors who are participating in Ignite Impact, a hands-on grant-writing program through the Sun Prairie Education Foundation and the Sun Prairie Area School District Business Leadership Academy.

And we’re SO excited to be one of the organizations they’re working with! 🎉

Through Ignite Impact, these students are learning what it really takes to develop a project, identify a community need, build a plan, write a grant proposal, and ultimately seek real funding for a real community impact project. 🙌

Over the next several months, these students will be putting their business and leadership skills to work as they help us brainstorm ideas and develop a project that could make a meaningful difference for individuals with Down syndrome and related disabilities, their families, and our South Central Wisconsin community. 💙💛

✨ This is what happens when students, schools, nonprofits, and our community come together. Stay tuned! We’ll be sharing more about this incredible project as it develops. We have a feeling these four seniors are going to do some pretty amazing things! 🚀
