What an amazing day of fresh air, great exercise and cheering for one another! Thank you, SCONES, for all the work you put into making today possible for our scholars and families. It’s easily the most memorable day of the school year and this year was no exception!

That being said, events like this and so many more opportunities for our students and staff require money to run them. The Northside Stride is a beautiful day of building community AND the one big fundraiser for our school. Please consider donating to help our parent group continue to fund events like Fall Fest, Game Night, field trips, teacher appreciation and more!

In fact, we really need a new Nelly the Nighthawk costume and we’d love SCONES to help us afford that.

This morning, Northside rose the Ho-Chunk flag for the very first time on our flagpole. Our school district recently revised our flag policy and we are so grateful to be honoring Indigenous presence and sovereignty, and ensuring that our district's values are reflected in the symbols we display. The policy now reads…

“The United States flag shall be displayed in every schoolroom and from a flagstaff on each school ground during the school hours of each school day. The Wisconsin state flag and the flag of the Ho-Chunk Nation will also be flown from a flagstaff on each school ground during the school hours of each school day.”

A HUGE thank you to Amanda from Ho-Chunk Nation, former Nighthawk Sadie and current Nighthawks Maci and Ansleigh for being integral parts of our ceremony!

4K started today and our youngest Nighthawks have started a great morning of learning their three basic rules…

1. Take care of ourselves
2. Take care of each other
3. Take care of our school

It’s good to have all of our scholars back to school 🎉💙

1. Cuidarnos a nosotros mismos

3. Cuidar nuestra escuela
