5th grade vs teachers DODGEBALL! 🏐😂

06/11/2026

Last day of school means one thing at Meadow View… DODGEBALL! 🏐😂

Our annual 5th Grade vs. Teachers showdown was full of flying dodgeballs, questionable teacher athleticism, fierce competition, and LOTS of laughter. 🤣

The perfect way to celebrate an incredible year together. 💙🦦

Once an Otter, always an Otter!

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

What a day!!!!

We started the day full of energy, excitement, and safari vibes at Meadow View. Our Otters enjoyed a fantastic Field Day filled with games, laughter, and opportunities to play together. It was a wonderful culmination of a great school year. Please check our social media accounts for videos and pictures, with many more to come throughout today and tomorrow.

The afternoon truly tested our leadership, teamwork, and trust in one another.

Beginning at 1:50 p.m., we sheltered in place for nearly an hour, and during that time:

• All Otters quickly moved to their designated shelter areas and organized themselves calmly.
• Staff members immediately ensured students were calm, safe, and ready to listen for instructions.
• Our office team communicated with families by phone and email as needed.
• We sheltered more than 30 parent volunteers and visitors who were in the building.
• A bus of 6th-grade students from Prairie View, who were returning from a field trip, also sheltered at Meadow View.
• Approximately 10 middle school students who had volunteered for Field Day stepped up as amazing leaders, helping support our younger students throughout the sheltering process.
• We improvised a few "Go Buckets" (portable restroom solutions) in some shelter areas. We identified this as an area where we can improve and are committed to having better portable restroom options available for future emergencies. We will be sharing a Go Bucket wish list if families would like to support this effort.
• We successfully managed two medical emergencies.
• Most importantly, we safely dismissed every student home.

As I write this message, only five words come to mind:

"We are good for kids."

• Most of our parents were understanding, calm, and supportive. You are so good for kids.
• Our district maintained quick communication with all administrators to ensure safety and consistency. They are so good for kids.
• Our volunteers joined arms with teachers and staff, helping in any way they could. You are so good for kids.
• Our teachers and staff remained calm and focused on making sure every child had what they needed. They are soooo good for kids.
• And our students... our students were incredible. They understood that weather is one of those things beyond our control and demonstrated their leadership skills by remaining calm and supporting one another. There was not one upset student, not one impatient student, and not one unkind child.

THEY ARE SOOOOO GOOD, KIDS!

So tonight, as you tuck your child into bed, count your blessings. I know I will be doing the same.

Because tonight, my list of blessings includes every one of our Otters, all of our families, our incredible district office, our dedicated staff, because every one of us is safe home.

Un abrazo,

Mrs. Bell

Queridas familias y cuidadores:

Sra. Bell

🦁🌿🐒 The wild has officially been released at Meadow View! 🐒🌿🦁

Today, our halls have transformed into the MV Safari, and our brave explorers are ready for a day full of adventure, teamwork, laughter, and fun! 🦒🐘🐅

From expert wildlife trackers and safari guides to crocodile wranglers and jungle photographers, our staff came prepared for whatever the wilderness may bring. We have already spotted a few dangerous crocodiles, some curious jungle creatures, and more binoculars than we can count! 🐊📸😂

We can’t wait to see our Otters enjoy a day filled with games, movement, friendships, and memories as we celebrate an incredible school year together.

A huge THANK YOU to all of our amazing staff for embracing the fun and making today special, and an extra special shoutout to our incredible PE team—especially our very own Mr. Fechner—for organizing this wild adventure for our students. 🌟🏆

Now, if you’ll excuse us, we have a safari to lead! 🌿🦁🦦
