Happy Holidays to everyone,
It has been a good year for the K-Isan Institute. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support for - and dedication to - the Koga Method. Mr. Koga would be honored to know that his lifelong passion for Law Enforcement training, and his efforts to share that training worldwide, are thriving and very applicable in this new day and age of Law Enforcement.
Here are some of the year’s highlights and challenges:
--We have had the opportunity to assist certain LE agencies regarding litigation (i.e., documentation, depositions, and information) to help with Use of Force Issues internally and externally.
--We have added a new sponsor and location to next year’s schedule. Controlled Responses Institute, a P.O.S.T certified company, will be holding classes at their new facility located in Bakersfield, California. I am looking forward to working with them to sponsor more K-Isan Institute classes.
--The website remains a work in progress. My goal is to have a new website up and running by March of 2023. In the meantime, you can continue to access the current website (Kisaninstitute.com or Kogainstitute.com) and get the 2023 schedule and fliers for the upcoming classes. I’m looking for some good bodycam videos of successful uses of force utilizing the Koga Method. Also, I’m trying to gather any testimonials of how the Koga system has helped or influenced you on the streets. These can be written by you or you can call me and tell me your story and I will put it on paper.
--We are having a baton supplier issue. The manufacturer of the laminated wood has closed business and we are in the process of finding a new one whose products meet the specs of a good police baton. I have a supply of batons that I hope will carry me through till we find a new company. I do not have any Kogawood 42-inch Riot Batons, only standard hickory ones.
--Lastly, due to rising operating costs, it is necessary to raise our Koga Method Training course prices for the first time in over ten years. I appreciate your understanding.
If you have a question or need more information, please don’t hesitate to call me.
Please be safe and strive to be the best you can be. “NO GIVE UP”
Sincerely,
Robert Mendiola
