Let's be honest, parenting is hard. Parenting a child with special needs and/or disabilities is harder. And sometimes, it can start to feel overwhelming, or that other parents can't quite comprehend the challenges. And that's okay! Everyone parents differently and experiences parenting in different ways. But remember to ALWAYS give yourself some grace, especially on the hard days! But be sure to give grace to others when they don't understand the difficulty, but know that they are trying to understand and when you need a helping hand, there is always someone to help. You simply have to ask!💜💜

Visit www.advancedindependence.com to find your helping hand! We offer services for Attendant Care, Habilitation and Respite.

❣Cerebral Palsy shares some fantastic insight into the life of someone diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. What might be easy to you, takes up far more energy than everyone else. Understanding this and giving grace helps create acceptance. 💜

Read on!
Living with cerebral palsy can mean using three to five times more energy than someone without CP to complete everyday movements. Walking, transferring, getting dressed, preparing food, working, exercising, or simply moving around the home can demand an incredible amount of effort.
That extra energy use is often invisible. A person may look fine on the outside while managing muscle stiffness, pain, fatigue, balance difficulties, or the concentration needed to coordinate every movement. Tasks that appear simple to others can feel like a full workout, and recovery may take longer than people realize.
This is why rest should never be mistaken for laziness, weakness, or a lack of determination. Rest is essential. Taking breaks, using mobility aids, changing plans, asking for support, or saying “not today” are all valid ways of listening to the body and protecting health.
People with cerebral palsy deserve understanding, patience, accessibility, and the freedom to move through life at their own pace. Small acts can make a meaningful difference: offer a seat, allow extra time, check whether a venue is accessible, listen without judgement, and never assume what somebody can or cannot do.
Cerebral palsy affects everyone differently, so the best approach is always to ask, respect the answer, and recognize the whole person—not just the disability. Every achievement, whether large or small, may carry a level of effort that others cannot see.
Let’s share this message to raise awareness of hidden fatigue and encourage greater kindness. Inclusion begins when we believe people’s experiences, remove unnecessary barriers, and create a world where nobody has to prove how hard they are working just to be understood.
Together, we can make everyday spaces more welcoming, supportive, flexible, and fair.

One night. Two seriously fun experiences.
Friday night at the Rockin’ Mom Retreat, we’re taking over the desert for a night you won’t want to miss!

First stop: Rustler’s Rooste 🏜️
We’ll head just up the hill from Arizona Grand to one of Phoenix’s most unique dining destinations. Think panoramic views of the Valley, dinner, drinks, country western music, and plenty of Old West personality.
Then: Oasis After Dark 🌙
After dinner, we’re heading back to the resort - and Oasis Water Park is all ours for the evening! Float the lazy river under the Arizona night sky, enjoy the pools, grab a drink, or just hang out with friends while the water park is lit up after dark.
Dinner overlooking the desert + a private night at the water park + hundreds of Rockin’ Moms hanging out and having fun together. 💙
This is just one piece of everything waiting for you in Phoenix.
