What an Amazing Day at Crosswell Drive Elementary!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our Cardinal families who attended our Title I Back-to-School Orientation! Your excitement, support, and partnership made today a tremendous success.
It was wonderful seeing students meet their teachers, explore their classrooms, receive free bookbags, books, and school supplies, and connect with the many resources available to support their success. Families also had the opportunity to sign up for volunteer opportunities, Be Great Academy after-school program, Good News Club, Girl Scouts, Behavioral Health Services, TeleHealth resources, Kelly’s Services and much more.
A special thank you to our incredible faculty, staff, community partners, and volunteers who worked tirelessly to prepare for today and warmly welcome our families. Your dedication truly reflects our commitment to One Team • One Mission • One Standard: Excellence.

Please leave the cellphones at home! Parents please remind your students and check book bags, purses, pockets , jackets lunchboxes,socks.. etc. NO CELLPHONES , or other electronics!

📵 No Cell, Bell to Bell! 📵As a reminder, Sumter School District's Board Policy JICJ creates a phone-free learning environment designed to keep students focused, engaged, and ready to learn.

From the first bell to the last bell, all personal electronic devices must be powered off and stored in students' backpacks during the school day. This includes:
📱 Cell phones
⌚ Smart watches
🎧 Ear buds and headphones
📱 Tablets
🎮 Gaming devices
…and other personal electronic devices.

By reducing distractions, we're creating classrooms where students can fully engage with their teachers, classmates, and learning experiences.

Our teachers and paraprofessionals were actively engaged in Visible Learning professional development facilitated by author and Corwin consultant Dr. Cathy Lassiter!
Together, we are strengthening our instructional practices, deepening our understanding of what works best for student learning, and preparing to take our Cardinals to the next level.

Congratulations to Cynthia Conyers, Sumter School District’s Support Staff Employee of the Year! 🌟

Recognized during this morning’s Back-to-School Rally, Cynthia was honored for the incredible care, compassion, and dedication she brings to students and colleagues every day. She received a commemorative plaque and a $250 award from the Sumter Education Foundation in recognition of her outstanding service.
