💦How can local collaboration help protect our waterways?
At the September 25 Storm Water Awareness Week Conference, Sumter County 4-H, Sumter Soil and Water Conservation District, and Sumter County Clemson Extension Storm Water Solutions shared how youth, community partners, and local agencies can turn water awareness into action.

Through cleanups and the Water Goat initiative, youth have helped remove roughly 645 pounds of trash from local waterways. The presentation highlighted how hands-on learning builds leadership while supporting cleaner, healthier places for the whole community.

Thank you to everyone working together to care for Sumter’s waterways!

Next Cleanup is this Saturday October 10th at 10am!

Join us to explore how a pumpkin grows and changes. We’ll kick off the club with a fun, seasonal introduction to learning together.
Regular Meetings
The club will meet every third Tuesday of the month, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., at the Clemson Extension Office.

The October 27 kickoff is an exception to the regular third-Tuesday schedule.

Represent Sumter County 4-H for 4-H Day at the State Fair!

Join us Saturday, October 17 for a day celebrating 4-H at the State Fair!

4-H members receive FREE admission when they show their 4-H membership card or wear their 4-H shirt. If you still need a membership card, please let us know. They are available for pick-up at the Clemson Extension Office.

We’ll feature a Parade of Counties during the 4-H Ceremony. Each county is invited to send a representative to carry its county sign. Representatives should meet at Nutt Cattle Arena at 12:45 p.m. to pick up a sign and line up.

🤖 Exploring AI with 4-H at Ragin Preparatory Christian Academy

Our six-session series began last month, with students kicking off the first session by exploring what artificial intelligence can, and cannot do. They also reflected on the ways AI already shows up in their daily lives.

Through these monthly sessions, students will build their understanding of AI and explore the experiences and skills that could inspire future AI engineers. We’re excited to keep learning together! 💡
