The 2027-2028 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗶𝗱 (𝗙𝗔𝗙𝗦𝗔) applications are now open and results are moving faster!

Great news for students! The majority of FAFSA applicants now have access to real-time FAFSA results. This means students won’t have to wait days for feedback after applying and colleges will receive information and begin reviewing FAFSAs faster. Students can access real-time results by logging into their FAFSA account after submission and clicking the link for FAFSA Submission Summary.

𝗔 𝗳𝗲𝘄 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻:
➡ Veteran applicants will continue with the current 1–3-day processing timeline while real-time functionality is finalized.
➡ Students submitting FAFSA forms or corrections during maintenance windows or system outages may also experience the 1–3-day processing timeline.

𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿:
✅ Completing FAFSA is the first step.
✅ Financial Aid staff will still need to review eligibility and required documents.
✅ Students should continue checking their CCTC email and student portal for updates.

Pink Out Day is an annual event held in October in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Wearing pink is a way to honor breast cancer survivors, support those currently facing the disease, remember loved ones lost and raise awareness about the importance of early detection through screenings such as mammograms.

Central Carolina takes home the SILVER! 🥈

Central Carolina Technical College's (CCTC) Marketing and Communications department earned a silver Medallion Award from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) District 2 for the college's Thrive in '25 recruitment and marketing campaign.

The award was presented in the Successful Recruitment or Marketing Program Campaign category, recognizing the department's creative approach to promoting educational opportunities, strengthening institutional pride and engaging prospective students throughout the college's four-county service area.

The award was presented at the Medallion Awards dinner during the National Council of Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) District 2 regional conference in Nashville, TN. The first night of the conference was "Country Glam" night and the CCTC's marketing team, and all conference members, had fun dressing in their best Nashville-inspired outfits!

The marketing team learned techniques and tools to better serve our employees, students and community and soaked up some good old-fashioned Nashville fun.

The CCTC Foundation's Fore the Brave: Veteran’s Golf Classic was held Oct 2 and raised more than $34,000 for scholarships for CCTC veterans, active-duty service members and their dependents.

Sumter area golfers teed off at Beech Creek Golf Club on October 2 for Fore the Brave: Veteran's Golf Classic, the CCTC Foundation's 16th annual golf tournament. The event raised more than $34,000 for scholarships for Central Carolina Technical College military veterans, active-duty service members and their dependents.

The tournament brought together local businesses, industry partners and community supporters for a four-person captain's choice competition. In honor of the nation's 250th anniversary, the Foundation chose to dedicate this year's proceeds to students who have served or are serving in uniform, and to their families.

Winning Teams:

🏆 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲: Hood Construction (Ray Derrick, Craig Hensley, Mark Hood and Donnie Fetner)
🏆 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲: Mauldin & Jenkins (Brian Nicholson, Tim Lyons, Zander Briggs and Jack Woods)
🏆 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲: Wright Level Leadership (Isaac Allen, Traci Nelson, Bill Vipperman and Ashley Wright)

A few of the day’s highlights include:
✴️ CCTC alumnus and pro golfer Tommy "Two Gloves" Gainey gave his team's spots to CCTC students and alumni
✴️ Hatfield Heating & Air donated its team to active-duty airmen from Shaw Air Force Base
✴️ Our Foundation Board members played and volunteered on the course all day
✴️ The top three teams took home trophies made by our Machine Tool Technology students
