John's Tutoring
Helping those who wish to enter the service by guiding them through the ASVAB testing Currently tutoring for ASVAB only.
Please be considerate..
If you make an appointment for tutoring, then realize you will not be there, let me know. Like you, I have things going on as well. To simply not inform me that your plans had changed is incredibly inconsiderate.
Think.
Thank you, Andre.
So I recently took the AFOQT for my second time and with Johns tutoring I was able to double my scores for the Quantitative section of the test! His help has been a huge blessing for me and he also helped my wife greatly as well doubling her score too for the ASVAB. I absolutely enjoyed all the tutoring lessons I had with John. Every lesson I felt like I was learning and understanding more and more as he broke things down easily for me to understand. For someone who hasn’t touched math in 5 years it really helped out. He is also really flexible if you have a busy work cycle and affordable too. If you need help with your math for the AFOQT, ASVAB, or just in general Johns Tutoring is the way to go. Keep up the great work John!

Do you know anyone looking for a career in the military? I can help them pass the ASVAB exam...and maybe they get a cool hoodie like this one. ha. Have them contact me.
For me, the worst thing I see for kids that come to me for tutoring?
The cell phone.
These are smart kids that can't think. They have been so trained to RELY on a phone, they are unable to process....at all.
Who was the cracker jack educator that thought phones in the classroom was a good idea?
You have completely dumbed down your kids. Good job.
Did you know that I am now also tutoring for the officer candidate's test for the military?
Do you ever question what your children are actually learning in the classroom?
I am only tutoring for the military entrance exam, the ASVAB, now.
I'm sorry, but I am seeing an entire generation of kids that came through the Sumter School District that have NEVER been taught basic math. And I know this is not an isolated thing with a couple of high school graduates...all you have to look at is the SC test scores for the Sumter area to see it is widespread. Abysmal would be the word.
To see a high school graduate, diploma in hand, have to use their fingers to add, ADD, 4 + 3 is heartbreaking. Smart kids too.
And the argument I hear is that in today's world, they will always have an electronic device to solve ANY math problem before them.
WRONG.
The ASVAB does not allow calculators to be used. The military wants to know if a future recruit can think through a problem...and if a kid has never been taught basic math, they will really struggle with the ASVAB exam.
Do you know how bad it is in this school system? Does it even concern you?
There were a number of newly elected school board members that see this terrible problem and are trying to rock the boat of a School Board that seems to only care about graduation rates...not an education. I could tell you 100 stories that have been told to me from your kids and their teachers...or ex-teachers....of how bad all of this is.
Do you want to make a difference in the educational system here?
Here is one of the good guys on the school board...If you know of something that concerns you, a glaring problem with your kid's education, Jeff Zell wants to hear from you. They are probably sick of my telling them...they need to hear from YOU. This will not change unless people DEMAND change. If you sit on the sidelines, this will simply get worse. Sorry, but that's a fact.
Call Jeff Zell...803-607-0797.
Congratulations for Lindsey for scoring a 67 on her ASVAB.
Hard worker....really proud of her.
The kids are back in school....another class will be graduating next spring....
About two months ago I told you that a newly elected School Board member, Jeffrey Zell, wanted to hear your own stories, horror and otherwise, about your experience with the Sumter schools.
This guy is a fighter. He is the type of person that will get change...but that is impossible without your input.
He has heard my stories and concerns...I am nothing but a tutor. One voice. He needs you. If I had a kid in this school system, these people on the Board would know who I am. You need to do this.
I promise, nothing will change without your involvement.
These kids are being deprived a proper education and if no one speaks up, the same damn thing will just keep happening.
Call Jeff....
803-607-0797.
Call him. He wants to hear from you. ALL CONFIDENTIAL.
I am still tutoring for the ASVAB.
