Today's the Day! We are off to the races!
I am thankful to each of you; old friends and new, that I have talked with on the campaign trail and took the time to go vote on November 8. In talking with you, I realized that even after serving as your State Senator for 30 years, this race for School Board will be the most important one for our Sumter community.
We cannot be successful without your support and your TODAY, November 22. The polls will be open until 7 PM. And you can vote today even if you did not on November 8!
This nonpartisan race is about our children, our teachers, taking pride in our schools, our parents being heard, and the future of our workforce. I hope you will put your trust in me once more; so that together, we can make a difference.
Phil

There are so many reasons Phil Leventis is a terrific candidate for Sumter School Board Area 8. 1: He and all of his children are products of South Carolina public schools. They are all living examples of the success stories we don't hear enough …

Today my family and I will remember and honor the lives of the men and women that died 21 years ago today as a result of one of the worst acts of terror on American soil.
Out of the death and the horror and the destruction of those acts also came the unity of the American people.
“If we learn nothing else from this tragedy, we learn that life is short and there is no time for hate.” – Sandy Dahl, wife of Flight 93 pilot Jason Dahl

Happy Labor Day!
While many of us are able to celebrate the holiday with friends and family, it is important to remember those that don't have the day off in order to keep our communities safe and our local businesses running! Thank you to each of you!

I have been asked on more than one occasion: Why get back into politics after serving as a State Senator?
My response: This isn't about politics! Rather, it shouldn't be! This is about our public schools, our teachers, Sumter County parents; and most importantly, our students!
I am proud to say that our four children attended Sumter public schools, and I advocated for our students and teachers as your State Senator. To serve as your voice on the Sumter School Board, which is a new capacity for me, I hope to earn your trust and your vote once more.
