Summer Meal Distribution Registration
Sumter School District will participate in the USDA Non-Congregate Rural Summer Meal Distribution Program beginning June 9, 2026. Eligible participants include Sumter County residents age 18 and under, except those enrolled in summer programs where meals are provided through the USDA School Breakfast Program and National School Lunch Program. Students enrolled in Sumter School District summer school programs are not eligible to participate. Meals will be provided by Sumter School District Food Service in accordance with USDA guidelines and may be picked up only by a parent or legal guardian.
A guardian is defined as an adult who has a direct caregiver relationship with a child and is authorized to pick up meals for that child. Parents/guardians will be asked to present a valid photo ID at the time meals are received.
Please Note: Childcare providers and others caring for groups of unrelated children are not considered “guardians” and are not permitted to pick up program meals on behalf of parents or guardians for the children in their care.
Meal packs will consist of five prepackaged lunch meals, each including an entrée, fruits, vegetables, and milk. Additionally, the packs will contain five pre-packaged convenience breakfast meals along with milk.
Participants must select one site for weekly meal pick-up, and registration is required each week. One registration for each participant. *Scheduled distribution dates are subject to availability and may change.

Today, we celebrate an incredible legacy as we honor our PSES principal, Michelle Curry-McBride, on her retirement after 31 devoted years in education.
For more than three decades, she has poured her heart into students, staff, families, and our entire school community. Her leadership, compassion, wisdom, and unwavering dedication have left a lasting impact on countless lives. She has been more than a principal — she has been a mentor, encourager, role model, and steady source of support for so many.
While we are excited for this next chapter in her life, it is impossible to put into words just how deeply she will be missed within our halls. The love and care she has shown to this school family will never be forgotten.
Thank you, Mrs. McBride, for the countless sacrifices, the endless hours, and the immeasurable difference you have made over 31 remarkable years. Your legacy will continue to live on through every student, teacher, and life you have touched.
Wishing you a retirement filled with joy, peace, family, vacations, and all the blessings you so greatly deserve. Forever a CROC 💚🐊
