💙 Giving for Graham 💙

Today our Pre-K friends had the opportunity to use their helping hands to help to make a difference in their community.

Giving for Graham is a special project created in memory of Graham Hicks, one of Mrs. Cameron’s students who passed away at the beginning of the school year. His life touched the hearts of so many, and we wanted to find a way to honor his memory by teaching our little friends about something that can make a difference in the lives of others.

A very special thank you to Senior Helpers of Hattiesburg for partnering with us and helping us teach our friends giving. Your support makes these experiences meaningful for our students and helps us show them what it means to be a good friend to our community. 🫶🏼

What a fantastic hands-on lesson! Today, Mrs. Holder’s brilliant college intern, Ms. Ella, led her ELA class on an unforgettable global adventure to learn all about habitats.
Students traveled around the world—learning about four unique places Ms. Ella has actually lived: Sri Lanka, El Salvador, Saudi Arabia, and right here in Mississippi! Along the way, our young explorers learned about the different environments and the amazing native animals that call each habitat home.
Each student received their very own passport to record facts, draw animals, and collect "stamps" as they visited each country!
We had so much fun learning through Ms. Ella’s real-world experiences. She is going to be an absolutely wonderful teacher, and we are so lucky to have her with us! 🍎

Our 2nd graders had some VERY special visitors today! 🐢🦎
Ms. Lisa Browning from Lamar County Soil and Water dropped by to teach our students about different animals and their habitats. The kids loved getting hands-on with a baby turtle, a gecko, and other animal friends.
A big thank you to Ms. Browning for such a fun and memorable lesson! 💚

🇺🇸📜 Colonial Constitution Day! 📜🇺🇸

Our 3rd grade students wrapped up their Constitution Module by stepping back in time for a little taste of colonial life! 🕯️

They practiced writing with a quill, made their own butter, and even tried their hand at a little metallurgy! ✒️🧈⚒️

What better way to wrap up a unit than by getting hands-on and experiencing history instead of just reading about it? Our students worked hard, got a little messy, and had a LOT of fun along the way!

We’re pretty sure the Founding Fathers would have approved! 🇺🇸❤️
