My first look back in time in a while! This Quartz Crystal was the largest I had found at the time! I had just bought some big mining equipment, had no idea how to use it, and thought I must have been crazy pursuing my dreams. Fast forward to now and it has just been a wild ride. This year has been the best mining and collecting season of my life so far! I look forward to being able to share some of the monster finds from the year with you soon! With 500 miles on foot this year alone, we have made some killer discoveries, and we’re just getting started…. Stay Tuned! Thanks again for watching!

Expect the Unexpected! A couple months ago, I was on an adventure in search of Smoky Quartz Crystals in New Hampshire. leobebo and I ended up finding some of the Largest Hematite Crystals ever found from this particular location. They aren’t very big, but their form, habit and luster more than make up for their size! Thanks again to Leo for making this trip day extra special and one I will never forget!

I began my Bachelor Party Weekend with a tough, short hike to the top of Mt. Kineo on Moosehead Lake. This steep cliff is made up of Kineo Rhyolite, a stone renowned for thousands of years for the incredible tools produced from it. Rhyolite from here has been found over 1,000 miles away as ancient trade routes suggest it was one of the best of its kind! I stopped to take videos at a picturesque lake on the way to our home for the weekend, where a stunning fiery sunset capped off a great day. My buddies and I went whitewater rafting on the Kennebec Saturday, none of us fell out of the boat, but we jumped in to float a few rapids. It was a great day! We got to enjoy some fireworks from our spot above Bingham, which was a very pleasant surprise. Dylan and spent Sunday jumping from watershed to watershed, 4 in all to prospect for gold. We found some promising spots to check out in the future! All in all, an incredible weekend with some incredible friends. Thanks for watching!

WOW!!! The Storm That Was The Gem Show Has Come And Gone, Leaving It’s Mark Permanently On The Communities Who Witnessed It. We had about 1,200 people attend, including 125 children who went home with all the goodies they could carry from our free children’s activities area! This was the best turnout in 15 years for our club! People came to the show from 32 states, including Alaska and Hawaii, and 4 countries outside of the USA!!! The vendors were awesome and I was told that specimens outsold polished rocks all weekend long! The door prizes were so good that winners had trouble picking what they wanted to take home! The display cases were filled with so many incredible pieces, that our patrons really took their time to get to know each and every case so they could vote on the People’s Choice Award for best case! None of this would have been possible without the dedicated work of 27 volunteers who spent 460 combined hours tirelessly preparing, running, and breaking down this event. Thank you to all of you who showed up to support your mineral community as a patron, vendor, and volunteer. You are greatly appreciated! 🙏

When I found my first Topaz crystal a few weeks ago I also found a cluster of something heavily coated in iron staining. After an iron out treatment and a visit to a local geologist, it was determined to be a cluster of a dozen topaz crystals surrounding a cluster of colorless fluorite crystals in the very center! Watch the whole reel to see the fluorites GLOW! Now, the game is afoot! Thanks for watching!

I Discovered My Largest Smoky Quartz Pocket Yet a couple weeks ago while out on a prospecting mission with .family.jewels and in New Hampshire. It started with a banger of a crystal and ended with removal of 90% of the pocket in 1 piece! It cleaned up really nice. Watch until the end for the full experience! Thanks for watching!
