SEF is pleased to honor Meghan Arts-Scozzari, Sculpture and Ceramics teacher at Summit High School, as the 2026 recipient of SEF’s Nora Radest Award for Excellence in Education.

The award recognizes a Summit teacher or administrator who has submitted grants through the SEF process and, in doing so, has enriched the classroom environment and served as a role model to others in the district.

Meghan has used SEF grants to strengthen the ceramics program at Summit High School, supporting hands-on learning opportunities such as Raku workshops, improved kiln equipment, and professional-level tools for students.

SEF is proud to present the Nora Radest Award for Excellence in Education to Meghan Arts-Scozzari, Sculpture and Ceramics teacher at Summit High School.

This award honors Nora Radest, a past SEF President, board member, and former Mayor of Summit, and recognizes an educator who has used the SEF grant process to enrich learning and expand opportunities for students.

Since 2012, Meghan has helped grow Summit High School’s 3D art program and, through SEF grants, has brought students meaningful, hands-on ceramic arts experiences — from Raku workshops to a new Bailey Thermal Logic kiln for the SHS ceramics studio.

The Summit Educational Foundation is seeking a part-time Development Manager to help support the fundraising and donor engagement efforts that make SEF grants possible for Summit Public Schools.

This paid, part-time role is approximately 3–4 days per month and is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, collaborative, strategic, and passionate about supporting our schools.

What a wonderful evening celebrating the Summit High School Class of 1975 and their 50th reunion.

SEF was honored to be part of the celebration and grateful for the class’s generous support of Summit students. Together, the Class of 1975 donated more than $53,000 to help continue SEF’s mission of funding innovation, enrichment, and meaningful opportunities across the Summit Public Schools.

It was a special night filled with friendship, memories, and Hilltopper pride. Thank you to the SHS Class of 1975 for giving back to the Summit community in such a meaningful way.

The Summit Educational Foundation is proud to announce more than $232,000 in Spring 2026 grants awarded to Summit Public Schools.

SEF is proud to support innovation, creativity, and student well-being across Summit Public Schools.

At the May 12 Board of Education meeting, the Summit Educational Foundation awarded $232,929 in grants to fund impactful projects and initiatives throughout the district.

This round of grants supports a wide range of programs, including a sensory safe space, music therapy, wireless microphones, kilns to expand pottery and ceramics offerings, robotics kits, and more. Each grant aligns with the district’s goals of Safety and Wellness, Culture of Belonging, and Project-Based Learning.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, SEF continues to help bring educator-led ideas to life for Summit students.

“We went on our SEF-funded field trip yesterday. The kids had a great time learning about how Rutgers students take care of the various farm animals!” Marija Prevoznak, Jefferson Elementary

SEF is proud to support Bringing the Farm to Life: An Experiential Learning Grant at Jefferson Elementary. This grant provided English as a Second Language students with a capstone field trip to the Rutgers farm, giving them the opportunity to connect their year-long virtual learning about dairy farming and agriculture to a real-world experience.
