This post got me at, ‘….people are becoming more and more comfortable with fear, meanness and hate.’ It is becoming apparent that we are numbing our acceptance of crude and immoral behavior.
I long for one more day with my deceased Dad. To talk with him about honor and sacrifice, service and integrity. But to be honest, for a man who risk his life fighting for this country, I am glad he is not experiencing this turmoil.
Regardless of how you voted on Tuesday - ALL OF US have work to do- physically-by speaking up and kindly having your voice heard; emotionally- by restraining from lashing out and respectively handling our own feelings; mentally-by reading, digging deep into research and history and open-mindedly listening to the other side with genuine curiosity; and finally, spiritually- by praying to, and listening to God, trusting in Him to teach us what we need to learn, and to believe he has a plan for our highest good.
We are all brothers and sisters. Doing the best we know how, with our own unique perspective of life, love and our pursuit of happiness. And whatever that looks like for you, please stop, breathe and remember you are about to interact with your favorite brother or sister.
This is a short, short, short life. I wish for everyone to spend it in reverence of its brevity. Let’s make meanness, hate and fear VERY uncomfortable.
