When you don’t wear your glasses to present, you don’t recognize the famous researcher sitting in your session!! Thank goodness! Had I known Dr. Charles Haynes was listening to my study, I may not have made it!! We had a lovely chat afterward. It made my day!! 🤩

It's been five years since I've seen my dear friend, Dr. Marcia Henry. We were able to meet for lunch today. It was so nice to catch up. She's been such a brilliant, inspiring mentor and friend. I'm sure I owe my acceptance to MSJ's doctorate program partly to her lovely letter of recommendation. 😊 This amazing woman has changed my life.

Day 2 of the IDA Conference started with honoring Dr. Spear-Swerling for her lifetime of countless and essential research in reading.
Then Dr. Jan Hasbrouck was honored with the Orton Memorial Award. So well deserved for her lifelong work in reading and dyslexia. Her speech was inspiring and a reminder that it is essential and it’s our moral obligation to continue to do the work. If we have the ability to teach all students how to read, then it’s our moral responsibility to teach students and teachers. 🫶
