✏️ My Second Grader Is Back in Action! 💙

Today we got back to work with cursive writing! We started with cursive warm-ups, practicing loops and smooth, controlled strokes to get those hands ready for writing. ✍🏽

Next, we worked on words containing -ought and -aught. Before jumping into cursive, we practiced writing the words in regular print first, making sure he was comfortable with the spelling and letter sequence. Then we transitioned those same words into cursive.

✏️ Week 2 of Handwriting Club! 📚🎲

Week 2 was all about learning that good handwriting has rules! Our different grade-level groups practiced important handwriting and overall legibility.

Each group worked at its own level, allowing students to practice the skills that were appropriate for them.

After putting in the handwriting work, students enjoyed board games for enrichment—giving them an opportunity to socialize, problem-solve, think strategically, and have a little fun! 🎲🧩

✏️ Week 2 of Cursive Club at Compass Collegiate Academy! 💙

We’re already growing! This week, we welcomed a new student to our Cursive Club, and she jumped right in and picked up the skills quickly! 🌟

Our students worked on cursive writing warm-ups, Magic C letters, and Spike letters, focusing on proper formation, pencil control, and connecting those foundational strokes to cursive writing.

We’re only on Week 2, and they’re making progress! ✍🏽✨

✏️ First Day of Cursive Club at Compass Collegiate Academy! ✨

We had a great first day putting pencil to paper and beginning our cursive writing journey! Students practiced foundational cursive strokes and letter formation, worked on proper line placement, and even began practicing their names in cursive.

I’m looking forward to watching their handwriting skills grow throughout our time together! 💙✏️

✏️ First Day Fun! 📚

Today was a great first day working with students in K5 through 6th grade! We jumped right into hands-on activities that incorporated handwriting, letter recognition, spelling, fine motor skills, and plenty of learning through play.

One of my favorite parts was watching students work together, problem-solve, and encourage one another. With such a wide range of ages, it was exciting to see everyone engaged and learning at their own level. ❤️

We’re off to a great start, and I’m looking forward to seeing their skills and confidence grow each week!
