“I have never had to do anything like this before, so when I was told I had to take the classes my mind went straight to I don't want to, I already raised a child, I don't need it. Donna, thanks for your hard work so I was able to enjoy my experience. I think if it wasn't for her or someone with her knowledge and understanding, this class would not have been so awesome. Girl Scouts of Eastern South Carolina held a Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention training for their volunteers via Video Conference with Zoom on September 12, 2024. On a scale of 1 (very low) to 5 (excellent), all participants rated the training as Excellent.

“As a public school teacher I had a good base of knowledge regarding abuse and reporting prior to training. The training provided clear examples, a coherent order and clear steps as to what to do if abuse is suspected. All adults who work with children should receive this information in order to help protect children and prevent abuse.”

If your children (or grandchildren) don’t learn to play with children with special needs at school, please have a conversation with them about being kind and inclusive. There are boys and girls that no one invites to birthday parties. There are special needs children who want to be part of a team but are not selected because it's more important to win than to include these children. Kids with special needs want what everyone wants: to be ACCEPTED!

PLEASE teach your children to be kind to ALL children! Everyone needs love and kindness. 💙
