✨ Pinewood Alumna Spotlight: Jessica (Keller) Gilmer ‘07
From Pinewood Prep to entrepreneurship, adoption advocacy, military life, homeschooling, homesteading—and now bringing a family business back home to Summerville.
Jessica has always been a bit of a “Why couldn’t we do that?” person. She loves taking an idea, figuring out how to make it work, and then rolling up her sleeves to build it. As she fondly considers, that mindset might also explain why she and her family recently agreed to live in a 440-square-foot toy hauler RV while custom-building their home.
Looking back, Jessica credits her years at Pinewood with helping nurture the confidence, independence, work ethic, and entrepreneurial spirit that have shaped so much of her life.
Today, Jessica is happily married to David, a fellow Summerville native and career military man. His service with the Homeland Response Force and Weapons of Mass Destruction brought their family to Georgia, where they now live outside Atlanta with their three precious children.
Nearly nine years ago, Jessica founded Mustard Seed Adoption Consultants (MSAC) as a small, faith-driven adoption ministry. Today, MSAC is a nationwide adoption consulting company that walks alongside hopeful adoptive parents as they navigate domestic infant adoption.
Jessica and her team serve as educators, and advocates, between families and ethical adoption professionals across the country. Their goal is to help families understand an incredibly complex process while never losing sight of the expectant mothers and children at the heart of it.
For Jessica, adoption is more than a ministry or a business. It is woven into her own family’s story and has profoundly shaped the way she views family, advocacy, service, and entrepreneurship.
Most recently, Jessica and David stepped into an entirely different kind of entrepreneurship when they became the owners of The Divine Children’s Show (DCS). DCS is a large-scale seasonal children’s consignment and boutique overstock event where families can buy and sell quality, curated children’s clothing, shoes, and more. Think thousands upon thousands of children’s items, hundreds of families, special presale shopping events, boutique overstock—and a whole lot of organized chaos.
And now comes one of Jessica’s favorite full-circle moments: they’re bringing DCS home.
The Divine Children’s Show of the Lowcountry is coming to Summerville, South Carolina—the town where Jessica and David grew up and the community that helped shape them.
For Jessica, there is something surreal about leaving her hometown, building a life, raising a family, starting businesses, taking risks, learning a few lessons the hard way—and then having the opportunity to bring something she and David have built back home.
