Our parents should have already received an e-mail about this exciting partnership. Students are encouraged to keep reading this summer -- 300 logged minutes using these special bookmarks can earn them a free scoop of ice cream from Sprinkles!
We’ve been keeping a secret đź¤đꤓ
At Sprinkles Homemade Ice Cream we are always looking for ways to give back to our community, so this year we created “Scoop it!” a summer reading program. We have partnered with 7 local BCSD elementary schools to give over 7,300 children the opportunity to learn, grow, and use their imagination this summer by reading 300 minutes and earning a FREE ice cream! 🍦📚
We are incredibly grateful for everyone at the BCSD who believed in our idea and helped make it a reality. 🫶🏼
Kids should be coming home with their bookmarks this week at the following schools ⬇️
•Foxbank Elementary
•Whitesville Elementary
•Moncks Corner Elementary
•Berkeley Elementary
•H.E. Bonner Elementary
•Cane Bay Elementary
•Nexton Elementary
We can’t wait to see all the reading adventures this summer brings, and we’re already looking forward to expanding to even more schools next year! 🏫

Mr. Sheridan from Berkeley County School District came to Cane Bay Elementary and worked with Ms Schneider and Ms Carlson's fourth grade science classes to collaborate, build and code climate action kits last week. These kits enabled students to build and code different renewable energy resource projects. Students learned in class about the different renewable energy resources, and how those resources are used to create electricity. Students then built wind turbines and solar panels. Students also were able to create a flood warning system to warn of dangers of natural disasters. We were so lucky to have Mr. Sheridan last week!!
