The first day of school at Bethany CDC will be Wednesday, August 23, 2023.

During our Meet the Teacher events, you and your child will have the opportunity to explore the classroom, meet other children and parents in the class, and of course meet our wonderful teachers.

Books & Beyond visited Bethany CDC today and they will return tomorrow! Books & Beyond is a wonderful non-profit organization whose purpose is to help build children's home libraries. Every class will get to visit the free book fair where friendly volunteers will talk about the joy of reading and read stories aloud. Then every child will get to choose books to take home. Our students are learning about Van Gough in art class with Ms. Stephanie & Ms. Jessica!

Our 4s and Kindergarten students are working on a special project in art class with Ms. Stephanie & Ms. Jessica. They are learning about Claude Monet and making waterlily art.

The Living Christmas Story is happening at Bethany United Methodist Church and our students had the opportunity to visit the sets and animals. Volunteers dressed as shepherds read stories about the birth of Jesus to the children and they even got to feed the friendly animals!

We had Chapel in the sanctuary on Wednesday & Thursday and the children loved seeing the beautiful Christmas tree!

The CDC parking lot will be closed from Monday, December 5 - Friday, December 9 as our church prepares for the Living Christmas Story.

Our morning drop off & afternoon pick up routines for December 5 -9 are below.

Morning Drop Off: Please park on the Fellowship Hall side of the church and walk your child to their classroom. The parking lot will be busy - just look for the bright yellow CDC signs. Thank you!

Afternoon Pick Up (including Lunch Bunch): We will not have a car rider line. Please park on the Fellowship Hall side of the church and walk to your child's classroom to pick them up. Thank you!

We will return to our regular drop off & pick up routines the following week.

Thank you to everyone who donated food for our Blessing Box food drive! This has been a wonderful experience for our students. The children have been praying for the families who will receive the food and choosing items to take to the Blessing Box. Hands-on experiences like this are so good for our children! It shows them that even though they are little, they can help others in big ways! 🙂

Children of all ages are welcome to participate as villagers or shepherds. We also need families with infants to be the Holy Family at the manger. These shifts are only 30 minutes and we have spots to fill all three nights. Contact Emily Vick if you are interested.

Many of you are enjoying the iconic Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV this morning as you prepare for your Thanksgiving meal.
Well, our 4-year-olds had their very own balloon parade at school last week! We all enjoyed seeing their unique, creative designs as they paraded through the school! Thanks to all the families who helped their children with this activity and to our 4s teachers who organized the event. The teachers even took a “no faces” photo so I could post it on our page. 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Due to the inclement weather expected tomorrow evening, our Kindergarten Readiness night has been rescheduled for Monday, November 14th at 6:00 pm. All parents of 4-year-olds are welcome to attend.

Bethany CDC will be closed on Friday, November 11, 2022.

When Dorchester District 2 closes or goes to e-learning due to inclement weather, the CDC will be closed.

We will be open as usual on Thursday, November 10, 2022. However, if you feel the weather conditions will make it unsafe to drive your child to/from school, please do what is best and safest for your family.
