Families, we want to make sure you have these upcoming dates on your calendar as you plan ahead for the next few months.

Two additional half-day PLC dates were added after the original school calendar was published. Students will dismiss at 12:15 p.m. on November 18 and February 3 to allow our teachers time to work together through Professional Learning Communities.

Please take a look at the updated dates below and save them for future reference. We appreciate your flexibility and support as we work to provide meaningful time for our teachers to collaborate and continue supporting student learning.

After a lot of hard work and dedication by these young ladies, the 2026 District 8 South Middle School Volleyball tournament is here. Starting Friday night, Summertown Middle, Ethridge, New Prospect, Leoma, South Lawrence, Collinwood, Lewis County and Linden will fight for the right to continue on into region play next week. All 8 teams will play Friday night starting at 5pm at Leoma. Bracket play will resume Saturday morning at 8am and will continue until one emerges victorious, sometime after the 5pm championship match, or the If Needed match at 6pm. It has been a lot of fun watching them play and grow this season, so make plans to come out and give them your support as they wrap up this season in the district tournament.
