It with great sadness that we have lost another classmate. Tim Fitzwater passed away this past week. Below, we’ve shared his arrangements. Many of us would see Tim and his wife, Sara, around the lake. He loved that lake. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Fitzwater family.

Classmates, we are doing a food drive for our local pantry’s to ensure they are stocked for the holiday season. If you would like to drop off food items to include, canned vegetables, pasta sauce, soups, peanut butter, etc…please drop them at Carper Auto Care, we will get it to the pantries. Dear classmates. Please keep our good friend and classmate Tony Martin and the Martin family in your thoughts and prayers in the loss of Tony’s dad.

Calvin “Carl” Martin age 89 went to his Heavenly home March 25,2025.
Born June 25 1935 to Ira J. Martin & Gracie B. Martin. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Martin, his sister, Wanda Martin Davis and his loving wife Livia C. Martin.
He was the father of four sons, Joseph Martin & wife Scholastica, Louis Martin & wife Tanya, Anthony Martin & wife Robin, Larry Martin & wife Dreama.

He was blessed with grandchildren, Christopher Martin & wife Kelly, Tiffany & Husband Vance VanderKolk, Brittany & husband Robert Beaudoin, Mallory & husband Joe Evans, Morgan & husband Jess Simmons, Madison & husband Brian Novak, Mykenzie & husband Ryan Hunt. 15 precious great grandchildren & 2 great great grandchildren.

Carl graduated from Nicholas County High School after graduation he went to Ohio and worked as a steel worker, he also worked on building the Sutton & Summersville Dams & retired as an electrician for Island Creek Coal Company.

Most will remember him for telling stories of the past & telling jokes with his friends & family. Carl had a great memory of all his friends & family members and talked of them often.

Wilma Virginia Talerico, cherished mother and Grandmother/Nonni, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024. Born on March 31, 1932, she was known for her unconditional love and strength. The Friends of Old Main are planning to participate in the homecoming parade on October 10th and to have a tent at the Pavillion to support NCHS and to pass out information about the Old Main Arts and Heritage Center. Classmates, we lost one of our class mothers, Esther Nell Hughes. Our love, prayers, and support to our classmate and beautiful friend, Vicki Hughes.

Esther Bailes Hughes passed away on December 18, 2023 in Summersville, West Virginia. Funeral Home Services for Esther are being provided by Waters Funeral Chapel.

Classmates, we are going to have to make a change with all these tshirt ads and other junk people are posting on our page. I've tried to change the setting and take us to a private page but haven't figured out how to do that. But know that I'm working on it and may have to start a new private group. So over the next couple of weeks, watch for an invite to a new private group.
