I hope everyone has had a wonderful summer! We cannot wait to welcome our students back to school tomorrow! Below, you will find a message from Mrs. Haines, our Lower School Librarian, with instructions for submitting your summer reading projects.
Welcome Back, Readers!
I am looking forward to the first day of school and to seeing the creative work students completed for our school-wide summer read, Because of Winn-Dixie.
Please review the following reminders regarding summer reading expectations:
All projects are due Wednesday, August 19th.
K–5th Grade: Projects should be turned in to the student’s teacher or homeroom teacher. They will be graded and presented during library class.
6th–7th Grade: Projects should be turned in to the homeroom teacher and will count as a Language Arts grade, as library class does not meet all middle school students.
8th Grade: Projects will be submitted to Mrs. Yates on the first day of school.
9th–11th Grade: Students will take a quiz on Because of Winn-Dixie upon returning to school, so please ensure the book has been completed.
I hope students enjoyed this meaningful and engaging story. Because of Winn-Dixie offers wonderful themes of friendship, family, and community, and I look forward to discussing it with students.
I am excited to see the projects and hear students’ reflections on the book.
Welcome back, and happy reading!
Mrs. Haines
