In Miss DeBerry’s high school history classes, students heard firsthand oral accounts of 9/11 and reflected on the experiences shared. Additionally, they wrote a reflection paragraph explaining to someone 50 years from now why we will never forget 9/11.

Through this lesson, students practiced connecting historical events to personal experiences, expressing their thoughts and feelings through writing, and understanding why it is important to remember and honor those whose lives were forever changed. 🇺🇸

We are incredibly proud of Bethany Community School seniors Abiagail Burleson and Tyler Newnam, who recently graduated from Rockingham Community College’s Fire Academy!

Over 2.5 months, Abiagail and Tyler dedicated 500 hours to completing this rigorous program and preparing for careers in fire and rescue services.

We love seeing our students take advantage of opportunities that challenge them, help them grow, and prepare them for life after high school.

Our students have been reading, and we're excited to celebrate a few of our first winners!

Students earn one raffle ticket for every book they finish, with opportunities to earn extra tickets by submitting a book review.

Congratulations to today's winners:

We'll continue drawing winners throughout the year as we encourage our students to keep reading, explore new books, and share what they're discovering along the way!
