Let’s meet the WW Lewis band directors! 🎷
Mr. Almaguer is a senior Instrumental Music Education Major at McNeese State University and is member of the Percussion Studio. He brings education experience from instructing multiple high school drumlines and maintaining a growing private lesson studio.
Mr. Almaguer is thrilled to work with the Rebel band students and help them grow as excellent musicians, confident leaders, and an amazing band family!
Mrs. Mac is an outstanding flute player who brings incredible energy, positivity, and attention to detail to the Rebel Band. She helps keep everyone organized, makes sure everything looks great, and is always ready to help our students succeed. The band hall is a brighter—and much more organized—place because of her!
Mr. Portier serves as the head band director at WW Lewis middle school, where he is dedicated to developing young musicians and fostering a lifelong appreciation for music. In addition to his work as an educator, Mr. Portier is an active performer, who enjoys sharing his passion for music both in the classroom and on stage. He is actively involved in music education throughout Louisiana, collaborating with fellow educators through professional organizations and mentoring opportunities.
