☄️🎶 Comet Band Weekly Outlook: Week of August 24!

We have another great week of learning ahead! Please review the Weekly Outlook to see what each class will be working on.

A few important reminders:

🎺 Beginning Band students may begin bringing instruments Monday. Students will have one more week of grace if they are still getting everything together.

📄 Please return all yellow 411 forms as soon as possible.

🎵 Morning and lunch practices are open to 7th- and 8th-grade students.

🙋 Concession stand volunteers will be needed on September 15, September 22, and October 20. The sign-up form will be emailed soon.

🧥 Optional letter jacket fittings will be Friday, August 28, immediately after school in the gym.

Week 2, Comet Band! ☄️🎶

This week is all about getting organized, learning procedures, and getting ready to PLAY!

🟡 Yellow handbook form: Due Friday — but send it back ASAP if you can!

🎺 7th & 8th Grade: Instruments may start coming to school Wednesday, Aug. 19 after cubbies are assigned.

🚫 6th Grade Beginners: Keep instruments at home for now — we’ll let you know when it’s time!

📅 Parents, save these MMS Football Concession dates: Sept. 15, Sept. 22 & Oct. 20. Volunteer sign-ups are coming soon!

We’re excited to get this year rolling!

🚀 Welcome back, Comet Band! Here are a few important reminders as we begin the year:

🎺 No instruments on the first day of school! Please spread the word. Students will be told when to bring instruments based on their grade level.

📁 4th Hour Band and 7th Hour Advanced Percussion: Please bring a black 1-inch binder with approximately 20 sheet protectors. Binders are optional for 6th and 7th Grade Band; band folders will be provided.

📕 Band handbooks go home Friday, August 14, and are due Friday, August 21.

Please review the graphics for additional information. We are excited to welcome everyone back and begin another great year with the Comet Band! ☄️🎶

🎶 Directors are getting ready for a GREAT year! 🎶

Today, our band directors had the opportunity to meet Mrs. Rachel Allen and spend the day learning from her through some amazing workshops! From building better bands and developing great players to choosing quality music and strengthening our programs, there were plenty of ideas we’re excited to bring back to our students. 🎺🥁🎷

Professional development hits a little differently when it’s all about BAND! ❤️🖤 Our directors are learning, planning, and getting fired up for another incredible year with the Comet Band! ☄️🎶
