As we begin fall break, we want to thank the local businesses and community members who help make the Maplewood Comet Band a successful program! 🎶☄️

A special thank-you to 4D Outfitters, Access of Louisiana Federal Credit Union, Maria’s Cocina Mexicana, McDonald’s, Golden Chick, and Bolton Ford. Whether you supported us through a Spirit Night, made a donation, or helped with our Spirit Store, your generosity makes a difference for our students.

It truly takes a village, and our community continues to step up for the Comet Band. As costs continue to rise, we work hard to make sure every child has access to music education. Music is an important part of a well-rounded education and supports students’ growth and well-being.

Thank you for standing with our students and helping keep music education strong at Maplewood!

🍟🎶 What a night for the Comet Band!

Thank you to everyone who supported our McDonald’s Spirit Night last night! With your help, we raised close to $800 in just two hours! 🙌

A special thank-you to our students and families who helped, our community who came out to support us, and McDonald’s for hosting. We are so grateful for everyone who helps keep the music going at Maplewood! 💙☄️

Join us Monday at McDonald’s from 5–7 PM for Spirit Night! Grab dinner and help support our students, the band receives 20% of all sales during that time!

☄️🎶 One of the best days of the year: BAND SHIRT DAY! 🎶☄️

Our Comet Band members received their official band shirts today, and they are looking sharp! A huge THANK YOU to 4D Outfitters for helping make sure the Comet Band looks its best!

Students, take good care of your shirt and don’t lose it! We’ll wear these throughout the year for performances, events, and other Comet Band activities.

We can’t wait to see these shirts all over campus and in our community this year! ❤️🖤

🎶 Band teaches so much more than notes and rhythms! 🎶

Today, our 8th Grade Band put leadership into action during student-led sectionals! Each section has a student serving as its Section Leader, helping guide the group as they work together to accomplish goals set by the directors.

The directors stepped aside, and our students took ownership, leading, listening, problem-solving, encouraging one another, and making music together. 💪🎺🎷🎶

One person doesn’t build great bands. They’re built when everyone learns how to contribute, collaborate, and lead. We’re proud of our 8th graders for stepping up today!

🎶 Exciting possibilities for the future of Sulphur High School music!

As our Maplewood Comet Band students continue to grow as musicians, many of them will eventually continue their musical journey at Sulphur High School. The District 30 bond proposal includes plans for a new music building at SHS, designed to provide dedicated spaces for band, choir, and other music programs.

A facility like this would give future students a space built specifically for music education and provide room for these programs to continue growing for years to come.

We’re excited to share these renderings so our Comet Band families can see one of the proposed projects that could directly impact many of our students when they reach high school. The future of music in Sulphur is exciting! 🎺🥁🎶
