Meet Our Teacher/Director, Candace Espinosa!

At Lighthouse Montessori Academy, we believe the people guiding our children matter just as much as the environment they learn in. We are proud to introduce our Director and teacher, Candace Espinosa!

Candace brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and genuine love for children to our school, including:

✨ Licensed through the American Montessori Society (AMS)
✨ More than 12 years of experience in Montessori early childhood classrooms
✨ 5 years of experience as a Child Care Center Director
✨ CPR and First Aid Certified

Her passion is creating a safe, nurturing, and authentic Montessori environment where every child is encouraged to become confident, independent, and excited to learn.

We are incredibly grateful to have Candace leading our school and look forward to the positive impact she will make on each child and family who walks through our doors.

One of the most unique and beautiful aspects of a Montessori education is the mixed-age classroom.

At Lighthouse Montessori Academy, children ages 2–6 learn together in an environment designed to encourage growth, kindness, and independence.

💙 Younger children learn by watching and listening to older classmates.
💙 Older children strengthen their own knowledge by becoming mentors and role models.
💙 Every child learns at their own pace without the pressure of comparison.
💙 Leadership, confidence, empathy, and responsibility grow naturally through daily interactions.

Instead of competition, our classroom is built on collaboration. Children celebrate one another’s successes, help each other overcome challenges, and develop meaningful friendships across age groups.

We believe learning isn’t a race. It’s a journey, and every child deserves the time and encouragement to discover their own unique path.

Everything Has a Purpose

One of the things that makes Montessori different is that nothing in the classroom is there by accident.

The shelves aren’t filled with random toys. The materials aren’t chosen just because they’re colorful or entertaining. Every item in a Montessori classroom is intentionally selected to help children develop a specific skill, build independence, or explore a concept in a hands-on way.

From pouring water and buttoning frames to counting beads and matching sounds, each activity is designed to meet a child’s developmental needs while encouraging confidence, concentration, and a love of learning.

At Lighthouse Montessori Academy, we believe children thrive when their environment is thoughtfully prepared for success.

We are so excited to officially begin this journey with our community! At LHMA, we believe children learn best through curiosity, independence, kindness, & hands-on discovery.

Our goal is simple: create a peaceful, joyful place where every child feels seen, valued, & capable.

This dream began from the hearts of two grandmothers who believe every child deserves a beautiful start to learning & life.

We cannot wait to share updates, sneak peeks, classroom progress, Montessori moments, & all the little bits of magic along the way.
